Would you like to see a corporate man fumble? Just give him drink, have him take one too many shots of liqure and you will see drama. You will view entertaining performance for a while. The power that alcohol has, i doubt if Marijuana can match it. Alcohol, a liquid that can turn a quiet person into a talkative.

Many people live responsible lives and even enjoy alcoholic drinks regularly. So please stop blaming the ridiculous for the obvious evils perpetrated by humans against their own and others for Pete's sake! undecided

Again, what you are doing is blaming alcohol for what it is not to blame on alcohol! Alcohol does not shove itself in your mouth, It does not cause you to do anything. Alcohol does not shove itself in your mouth. All Alcohol can do is lower your inhibitions. What comes after that is all you and nobody else. undecided

3 things to note.
1. You say your dad is an alcoholic
2. You say he is responsible
3. Putting together 1 and 2, inference can be made that your dad is a functional alcoholic.

However, it is obvious that you don't drink yourself so you may not have an understanding of who a true alcoholic is.

Men relieve stress in different ways. If your dad chooses alcohol as what he use to let off steam, I think you should cut him some slack.

Particularly moreso in the present economy when you as a man is doing all you can to foot bills in your home and then you have an idiot son who doesn't know nor appreciate the sacrifice you are making. Only for him to come and post rubbish on nairaland. Instead of that son to reason on how to make head way in his own life, he is making issue with how his dad drinks.

Allow the man be. Man up yourself and then when you face what he's faced and keep facing, ask yourself objectively if you are being fair to your dad.

He drinks.. so? You disrespect him by discussing him on this forum. If he finds out he has such an slowpoke as a son, I bet he'll drink more.
