Well invasion and colonization are different...

Both might have different underlying purposes. The aim of an invasion might not be to colonise. Sort of what is going presently like the "invasion" of Ukraine.

But you are right. Russia had little interest in colonization because it already had vast amounts of land which was even a handful for her to manage at the moment.

She had enormous resources at her disposal and did not really need to colonise or exploit the resources from African countries - all the countries that scrambled for Africa did so because of the resources they could exploit.

Russia is a self sufficient country and even till today all the sanctions she has faced and still faces would have crippled any other country but Russia still stands because she has all the resources to be self sufficient so why bother.

Russia had little access to the sea... We can say by the time they were ready to navigate the Baltic sea and move to Africa most of the juicy and easy lands or parts of Africa had already been acquired by other colonial lords/countries.

Russia also had Siberia as her colony which herself also had enormous resources to sustain Russia was also difficult to manage so they had a lot on their plate. Yes Russia had a colony - Siberia.

The size of Russia alone is massive - bigger than a continent. It takes resources/logistics to manage such.

Funding such expeditions would actually have cost them more than they stood to gain in the end.

Same reason they sold Alaska to to US!

Hmm...

A lot of persons seem to antagonise the US.

As much as it is not perfect, it bears noting that the US has had to intervene TWICE to save the world from mad tyrants.

It bears further noting that Russia had indirectly and directly supported the axis on both occasions before reversing itself.

The US has every right to be concerned about another world war.

The US might seem a bit off-colour military wise at this time, but Russia would do well not to wake the 'unserious' giant because if the US enters overdrive with its arms development, its game over.

Who gave USA the right tn do anyhow but no other country?

I mean if Russia tries to arm its allies now, they would react.

For example, USA doesn't want Russia to invade Ukraine but if a country like Mexico decides to support Russia and allow it to arm it, USA will invade mexico.

I have been asking this. When Russia wanted to arm Belarus, it was problem for the US. Russia tries to have a base in Sudan, US kicks but US has bases all over the world which is what they use to bully many govt into submission as they can lunch an attack frm many places in the world.
The US has military bases sorrounding China but hates to see China have a base outside China. The US is the biggest problem of the world and I know that some day, all of these will end

You have to be incredibly stupid to think a war between NATO & Russia will somehow be a win for the east or anyone in the world. The world is interdependent and all out nuclear war will affect everyone.

The West are not saints and exploited Africa but definitely China and Russia are not better, they just don't have the opportunity in fact Russia and China can even be worse.

Historically country like China and Russia only respect the strong and Africa and black people in general are very weak in all aspects of life.

If country like China, Russia, North Korea and even Iran get power to do anything and are in charge. I tell you black people will become slaves again

It is just very stupid for any African to pick a side, it is better to be neutral because none of them like your black ass but if i want to pick, i will still pick the west because at least black people have been allowed to lead and achieve a lot.

Gentle giant you should be afraid not to enter overdrive is Russia not US, America already enter overdrive many times and we know what they can do...

It takes a high level of self control to destroy or eradicate something but choose not to.. That's why you should thank Putin.. Assuming Israel was in Russia position, maybe there wouldn't have been civilians in Ukraine again...

Note:
I never said Russia would win a war against the US or be defeated but surely both sides will collect wotowoto from each other
