If Dangote Petroleum is successful and real, they alone can turn the economy around.
The value of his company grew more that of Jeff Bezos last year (as we wait to see the impact or his products).

This is so true because the whole thing seems as if they are leaving the real matter and beating about the bush.

Until we start seeing ourselves as one, till then we will keep on struggling.

Agric won't help NIgeria. Unless we have massive plantations with mechanization...agric won't help us

All the African countries on agric, are either heavily in debt, or struggling. Like now, all of our African cotton producers are being beaten into the bush by USA cotton producers who are outproducing them at a heavy rate. ALso, see how Ghana tried to get a fair price for its cocoa, and how that failed misreably.

If we can process our agricultural produce into exportable goods, maybe we may see something better. But the days of agric saving us ended in the 1970's.
Agriculture will definitely help us man...our neglect of Agriculture after d oil boom was d genesis of our problem

LIke I impled, only way agric can help us is by doing massive mechanzied farming and applying research to get more yields on less farmland.

Not the way we did it in the 1960's via massive subsistence farming, and even then we got away with it because the UK was our guaranteed customer. It was when the UK stopped buying our stuff in the 1970's as much as they used to, that we ended up with oil.

Even better, we can use agric produce to make exportable goods.

We can go back to agric, but not back to the way things were. And as I said, if not for oil, relying on agric would have left us as broke as GHana was in the 1970's and 80'S.

We need to explore our gas reserves, this will drive the power and industrial sector moving on it own.

We need to harness our agricultural potentials. This will drive the chemical, raw material and allied businesses on it own. Different level of policing need to be explored especially in the middle belt.

A lot of deepwater offshore projects are pending, this needs to kick off. This will improve our oil production capacity. Seek foreign assistance on crude theft.

Corruption needs to be stopped but putting in place capital punishment for thieving officials. This measure should also be extended to election riggers.

Domiciliary accounts should be converted to naira to stop fx speculation.

Letโ€™s start from here and everything go set

INSECURITY
Re: Economy: Nigerians Look Up To 10 Companies In 2024 by UNDFTD: 7:23pm On Jan 28
Economically, Nigeria is NOT going anywhere, NOT in 2024 or at another time. Your so-called pundits and talking heads can come on TV and other social media platforms and use big grammar to confuse and convince you that they know what the hell they are talking about. But in reality, they are talking arrant nonsense. Show me any country on this earth that's economically buoyant without having a CONSTANT power supply. Again, show me any country that is supporting and sponsoring terrorism that is thriving economically with investors trooping in to invest there. There is NONE and your Nigeria is not going to be an exception! So, if you believe in all these LIES and FALSE narratives that your Nigerian government and its surrogates are propagating, you do so at your peril.

What happened to Peace Mass Transit?

What of Innossion Group?

Why did you omitted Abakaliki Rice Milling industry?

What of the company that produces beer larger? Nigeria Brewery!

Don't you think MTN, GLO and Airtel network providers supposed to be included?

Why didn't you include POS operatiors association of Nigeria? Or don't you think they may decide to go on strike?

That list is grossly inadquate.

The challenge is security. Tourists do not want to visit a country that appears unsafe. Therefore, we need to fix security first before we can tap the potentials from tourism.

This is how you know Nigeria is failing badly. We ought to have a myriad of companies that would be boosters for our economy, but now you can easily count them. Tragic!

Nice list. I was expecting to find mining/quarry and construction companies their because of the huge amount allocated to infrastructure.

In reality, the Nigerian economy actually looks up to every segment especially the agricultural sector and informal sector which both employ the largest number of the Nigerian population.
May God bless Nigeria for ever!Check my signature for free stuffs!
na so so mushroom companies
No huge leader among them like dangote or bua
I don't even know why no Greenberg is in that list
