Good morning, I want to get an inverter. I have an option of getting a Yohako 2.5kva hybrid inverter or a mercury 2.4kva hybrid inverter. Which would you advise I go for? The mercury is much more expensive at 398k while the yohako, I saw it on jiji for 230k.

Is the yohako a good product? Are the potential benefits of the mercury worth buying it over the yohako?

Lastly, are hybrid inverters worth it or I should just go for a normal pure sine wave inverter?

Yes you can buy its recipe for quick failure (lithium)
It's not recommended. It's better to go for a 24v battery at once.
In the long run, imbalance would set in.

Hi guys, I live in the US, but I want to implement solar for my family back home in Nigeria. I am scared that the quality isn't up to what we get in the US. Especially the Lithium Ion Phospate batteries. I was thinking of sending the materials from the US, but the cost will be outrageous. Also, the US uses 120V while Nigeria uses 220V.

My question here is, do you guys have reliable sellers in Nigeria I can buy from? And what brand do you guys recommend? Is there any reliable website you guys buy from? My family lives in Lagos Nigeria.

Your answers will be greatly appreciated.

Unless you have shitloads of money to throwaway, or you are setting up a mission critical NASA office in your family house in lagos, getting all the stuff you need from usa isnt worth it...
if you insist you can get the inverter and charge controller from usa, morning star or victron...but you would spend x3 less if you get a decent model like deye or solarx in nigeria..........and upto x5 less if u get growatt/felicity /sorotec etc in nigeria.

3.2kwh pylontech lithium battery is about 1.5m naira/ 1200usd.............but you can get a whooping 14kwh decent lithium battery in nigeria for under 4m, or a little over 2.5m naira, if you go the diy-custom built models .

some tried and trusted installers are on this forum..discuss with them and have them setup ur system for you.
if you are in lekki & VI axis @niyiomolyunade is highly rated in that regard

yohako isnt among the good inverters...also mecury.

why not get growatt or felicity hybrids...or even powmr or sorotec. those hv a decent track record

Thanks for your response. I spoke about Yohako because my brother is an inverter installer. He told me that he used Yohako for some years that it is a good product. I dont really know much about it. I assumed that Mercury inverters are good because of the brand name. Ok, I will look at the ones you mentioned

What criteria do we use to define a good inverter and cc?

Both yohako and felicity are both Chinese.
Felicity is beating yohako in terms of packaging and organisations.

Na the same people.
I don't see any difference between this two products.

Thanks for your reply. So, I can go for the Yohako? How about Mercury hybrid inverter, does it have a specific problem?

I have not used mercury for any installation before.

I have used yohako and felicity.

Any of them is okay.
Felicity has a transformer based hybrid, yohako has the same.

Felicity has a chopper transformer hybrid so as yohako.

Felicity only has a service centre outlet in Lagos, I don't think yohako has.

Na the difference be this (felicity has better customer service that's all)

you have a point,
however i have seen several dumb yphako inverters/charge controllers.
foolish inverters without editable charge voltage settings and proper smart battery type switch useless or non existent LVD & HVD settings......... in this day and age, how can a company make such products?. luminous and mecury are also fond of this poor design philosophy issh

i also saw a yohako charge controller, same issue-- it just has low and high for battery type, ,
until they wake up and start producing smart user friendly products...i will continue rating them low..

Any company still making products with such poor designs is not serious...
Luminous, mecury, yohako, etc are on this table

Indians likes working with products that are reusable or recyclable. This is a major reason you don't have Indians lithium batteries and inverters.

Chinese Na all manner as long as it brings Money.

This is a pattern in renewable energy sector just observe it

With lithium or lead acid?

Lithium.
The person mentioned connecting 2 12v lithium battery in series. Each of these 12V battery would have their own bms controlling only the cells within itself and would be unaware of what is happening in the other 12v battery.
