I have been on solar and Inverter for the past 8 years and it has been serving me well. I only switch to NEPA when there is no sun or my Inverter is depleted or I have to use AC. Nigerian public power can disappoint. Though, it has been good within the last five years as my area once enjoyed closed to 23hr a day during the raining season. My solar is saving me costs, as NEPA bills have risen astronomically in recent years.

Power generation is now rocket science to some shameless people.

The situation is so bad right now that you can go for days without seeing any Trace of electricity. Before this deplorable condition, we used to have about 14 hours of supply but now you barely have an hour if at all it shows.
Nigeria is going down day after day after day. Evidence of bad kleptomenic leadership.

Go to the South East and start harnessing all the gas reserves there, they have plenty over there. No need to reserve when the nation is running on shortage!!!
Let them not come anywhere near SE gas reserves. If I remember correctly, numerous times people on this forum have called SE a barren region. Let it remain at that.

Nonsense

This is just the beginning of our failure as citizens. We have embolden our leaders that it is normal to steal, it is normal to rig election, it is normal to embezzle state funds.

Why are Nigerians complaining? Why are they crying like raccoons? Is this not what they voted for?

Are you expecting progress from a druggie and a certificate forger? Or a chief of staff who is a convicted thief? Or election riggers?

Come on, I thought Nigerians are smart.

The sooner you start looking for how to mobilize 25% of Nigerians and replicate Sri Lanka, the better for you.

We would know when you’re ready but for now, enjoy the suffering and insecurity.
We really don't know what we want. Our leaders know this and use this against us

I'm perplexed as to why we would claim to be using hydro electricity but now depend on gas plants to actually drive the pRocess. We obviously need alternative energy sources and slowly phase out this hydro bull shit that has been gulping trillions yearly without desired output. It simply is not our solution
Nigerian doesn't reply on a single source of electricity generation. Gas powered generation has surpassed hydro electricity

We keep saying this all the time like any tribe is buying fuel cheaper or the suffering is selective of tribe
Unfortunately, the reasonable ones are minority in number.

If that's the case, have we stopped gas flaring. If it's a more feasible source then we ought to harness it to the fullest. In my lay man knowledge,. It would be cheaper to use and maintain an all year supply compared to hydro

The issue is not the gas but inadequate means and the infrastructure required to deliver the gas to the stations they are needed.

If you work remotely or mostly online like some of us, please get an affordable solar power system for your basic needs. You can use grid power whenever it's available.I do not see any improvements in the energy sector anytime soon.

I almost went nuts last year with the amount I was spending on fuel every month. I took a bold step to raise funds (even borrowed) to get a small solar power system. I haven't touched my generator since September last year!

Do it now! Inflation is tearing everything apart. The system I got for less than ₦240k now goes for about ₦300k.

I use Eden Power. Just google them. It's just the basics: powers my laptop, comes with a DC fan and one light bulb. It helps me get work done.
There are several other products too. But I trust Eden Power.

Best wishes bro.
