Why would anyone think Peter Obi (i take it that’s who you’re referring to in your post) would be the one organising this referendum!? Not a few people (yours truly inclusive) see as naive and too trusting, any Igbo who thinks they can become president of todays Nigeria through a free and fair electoral process in which the will of the people will be the major consideration in determining who wins! Peter Obi, though a good and honest man, is a naive Igbo ‘one Nigerianist’! I supported him to emerge president more in hope than expectation!

The people in support of secession and this referendum are those of us who are pragmatists and realists, and have woken up to smell the coffee! For as long as there are power-hungry, bigoted, greedy and insecure hegemonic elite in Nigeria, for so long shall Nigeria continue to stumble in the dark, maintain a fractious relationship amongst its constituent parts, and continue to plot against any Igbo becoming president….like we saw in the last charade that passed for a presidential election!

After the voting is concluded for this self-referendum, what happens next? I mean, it's a good idea that Simon Ekpa has opted to use a more peaceful approach for the actualization struggle by launching a voting portal, but if my knowledge for anything referendum is much to go by, aren't the government and other peoples of the Nigerian nation supposed to be involved?

Should the outcome of the voting determine that majority of Igbos want Biafra, how do you achieve it when the Nigerian side was not involved in the process and therefore decides to pay no mind to whatever result your self-referendum births?

You know, if the Biafran nation needed the Referendum from Nigeria, then they would have to involve the whole of Nigeria.

But then, the Nigerian Government had earlier made things very clear; that the only Referendum in the Constitution only has to do with the recalling of legislative members, the creating of new states/LGAs, and for adjusting of boundaries of States/LGAs, and not for secession, separation from Nigeria, disintegration of Nigeria, creating of new countries, or any other purposes.

So, the Biafran people said that needed a new nation.
The Nigerian Nation cannot give it.
It is only the United-Nations can grant such.
And the Biafran People needed to get a minimum number of people to actually agree that the New Biafran Nation is the Country they want to be in, and that it is the country they chose as their own nation.

So,, this exercise is a self-determination vote.

Thus, “A People” are coming together in a self-determination vote (self-referendum) to determine if they are ready to be named a new nation.

Other nations are not supposed to be involved in a self-determination vote..
(Not even the mother nation from where the people were originally in, and decided to secede from).

its like u haven't visited delta state. Ika people of Agbor are migrants from Benin,so are uroboh, isoko, itshekiris are Yoruba,Edo is Yoruba too. Asaba people are from Igala, kogi state...prince onochobo and diaba, woman from njete village in Anambra. No king in delta state takes cues from king from east. Those who take cues take from oba of Benin. Like Ika kings, isseke uku, onicha Igbo etc
