Ikorodu have enough land capacity for this, but bad road is a major problem here.... Someone mentioned badagry up there, that location will record low patronage due to bad road and far distance to developed area, even tho they also have land mass...

Lekki/Ajah still remains the perfect location when we put generating revenue for the state into consideration.. Proximity to top companies, wealthy people, embassies, 4star hotels is an added advantage, also, it will serve as a representation of tourism and a standard metro transportation system for a mega city like Lagos consisting of rail, water, road and air transportation. Moreover it will be a balance as mainland already had a federal airport at Ikeja.
So why is the governor not looking in that direction of fixing the roads, these are two main areas with large concentration of people the roads should not be what an issue at this time.

There are many areas on the mainland that still need good roads.
Is it only mainland roads that need repairs, and brand new roads?

What of many parts of the island, especially the feeder roads even in Lekki where the residents have not contributed money to fix roads, in addition to the taxes and other money they pay to LASG for its huge IGR?

Is this how Lagosians brag about being wise- pay government and still provide your own infrastructure, services and utilities huh
No be juju be that?

Lagos needs more than one airport .from Lekki/ Ajah to Ikeja might take you three to four hours on some terrible days.
The state is viable to afford it.

Leading to where ?

Is Lagos the first to have a state owned airport ?
Infact no SW has been able to build an airport by themselves

Delta built theirs
Anambra built theirs
Ebonyi built theirs
Owerri airport was built by local businessmen

In 2024 , Lagos is just about to embark on one and you’re here shouting cheesy

Badagry will be perfect and what you said is the reason why it is best suited for Badagry. Busy Airports creates traffic and causes rapid development. Lekki axis is already busy enough. Far distance to developed area is good, Govt can easily fix the roads. Controlled development will come in handy. However, the airport will be located in Lekki due to the faulty logic of mainland has one the island should have one

Time factor I guess.... He has less than three years to round up his tenure. Tho, the airport project will extend longer than his tenure, but it's more reasonable leaving just one unfurnished project (airport) for the incoming government than leaving more(road, then airport)... Continuation is not even certain if the next government is from a different party.

Diversity in transition will help solve the traffic jam(rail, waterways and rail)

Your second point does not put the state revenue generation into consideration, money must be made...

Did you just say 'easily fix the road'? Remember he has less than three years to round up his tenure. Leaving a cumbersome project like road isn't advisable (Ambode's case scenario).

Creating a balance in infrastructural allocation to some places within a state isn't a faulty logic sir, the segregation between mainland and island has been from time immemorial, even from the days of the colonial masters... It's fair enough to do it that way

I have been to some good Airports in developed countries and the best suited were those out of the city centres. You have enough space to plan around and get it right. Development will come to meet the airport as long as it is located in Lagos albeit in a "controlled" manner. Lagos is home to more than 20million people you will rake in income anywhere you cite the airport in Lagos axis and Lagos should have about 4 intl airports. Sanwolu cannot even finish the first phase of the airport in 3 years if he begins the project this morning, let alone completing the project. However, I am not right and you are not wrong...what will be will be

You have made a valid point sir, but I still disagree with people comparing the developed countries with our underdevelop/developing African nations. But all the same, you ended the conversation with your last paragraph, there no point pressing further. Stay safe sir

I'm not against more airports in Lagos but don't you think if the traffic of getting to Ikeja from Ajah is the reason for a new airport then its just a misplaced priority.
When the delay in traffic should be treated, when efforts should be made to ensure that Usable manhours are not lost on road trying to get home/work.

Island Should be for Islanders and mainland for Mainlanders, No one should be going from Ajah to Work in Ketu or From Ikorodu to work in Vi

This should be solved before new airports

Can be that those states are not as welcoming as Lagos.
Insecurity, tribalistic something that scares visitors and investors away from those states.
