Think of all those years gone by - when our electoral commissions had names like NEC, FEDECO, etc.

Camera phones were unknown back then. Audiovisual equipment was specialized stuff usually available only to news media crew. Normal everyday people having the hardware to record events at polling booths was rare as hen's teeth.

Think of all the ballot box snatching, intimidation, thuggery, battery, assault and even murder that criminals (in uniform and out of it) at the polling booth got away with. They got away with these crimes for ever and suffered no repercussions. All that criminality shaped our elections and shaped our politics into what you see here.

We owe a big debt to those who invented the cell phone camera and who turned us all into citizen journalists and news men/women. We must resist the criminality on display as seen on this video - if not for ourselves then for our children at least.

The struggle continues.
