I stopped using NEPA or PHCN For Over 10 Years Now Since I Challenged The Status Quo And Switched To Solar Systems Since Year 2013 Just Immediately After My NYSC.

At That Time; When The Dollar Rate Was Still Cheaper And The Economy Was Still Quite Better Than This - Many Nigerians Who Had The Money To Easily Afford Solar Systems
But They FAILED To Upgrade Technologically Because Their Minds Were PRIMITIVE And They Wanted To Stick To Their Habitual Noise and Smoke Pollutions from Their Fuel Generators.

That's The Mentality Many of You Still Harbour And The Chance To Own Solar Systems At An Affordable Price is still being jeopardised.

The Basis of This Thread is not to Argue About The Cost of Solar Systems.

The AIM of This Thread is To AWAKEN People To OWNING SOLAR SYSTEMS That They Can Pay For On Instalments.

We Have Got Several Solar Empowerment Packages Ongoing in Nigeria.

So, There's No Excuse.

Calculate how much you spend on fuel for generator for one year and it will be more than solar bill.

Perfect

I don't own just one generating again infact I sold off my remaining 4kv last year December

Cost of running gen for just a month is over 100k (not even full day but just for few hours to enjoy myself after daily activities

One just need to cut down unnecessary power consumption

When will the Nigerian solar industry realise that their very high prices don't help their business..

If all the masses could access solar for like 200k the sales would be huge for the solar guys based on volume

Old news.
Many people have parked their generators and the nights have become quieter.
Making a lump 500K investment is entirely different from buying 2K fuel today, 5K fuel tomorrow.

There is a solution to that loans... which I won't like to get into now.

Not like the company hike the prices (I don't own solar company) but the equipments is not cheap to manufacture. We all know how much a car battery cost whereas its of lesser capacity compared to deep cycle battery. Now, let's talk about tubular, & lithium. Initial cost of setup is high but the reward is worth it. Someone who cannot afford lithium & tubular batteries can go for deep cycle battery which cheaper. If you want to enjoy solar, cut off all unnecessary power consumptions & do away with gen/on grid power supply so your focus & expenses will be on solar. No monthly payments, no maintenance of any such.
