We return to Onitsha again !!!

We have come back to build a new block of 9 flats of 3 bedrooms (8 flats plus a basement flat) in the commercial city if Onitsha, Anambra state. Details of the project;

Project: New construction of a block of 9 flats of 3 bedroom apartments.
Location: Onitsha, Anambra state
Client: A Nairalander
Contractors: Spyder880 builders
Project Duration: 10 months
Budget: To be revealed later.

Please follow us as usual, as we start this beautiful building, and aim to complete the works soon.

This site will be difficult to work at, owing to the nature of the environment. There is a very steep slope on this land, prompting the foundation design which was made to have a basement, then the ground will be levelled to start the ground floor on the top of the basement flat.

To add to the list of challenges in this site, another contractor who started this work last year made a mess of the grounds, sinking in holes in areas not consistent with the foundation designs of this house.

So our first challenge here will be to work around their excavation, finding a way to contain the sand they excavated, while building this basement according to the original house design.

I am already making arrangements with materials supplies, chippings, sand, blocks, iron reinforcement bars, water, etc.

I've taken position and will be monitoring the progress from here.

Marking out the site for excavation of the foundation trenches as from tomorrow.............

We are still working to bring in more materials in formnof chippings, sand and other materials............

We have started foundation excavation works here.......

We are also buying iron reinforcement rods for our use here, rods are so costly now...........

Work on this foundation has continued, we are being circumspect with the foundation plans, it seems we need to introduce a couple of columns to improve in the design plans of this building. More pictures later as we start the column base excavation today.

Cement jumped from N6,000 to N7,500 within a week, Nigeria we hail thee.

Lots of folks abroad currently have projects in Naija. The exchange rate favors them.

Updates on this foundation, we have sank the column bases on the basement flat foundation, currently doing the concrete blinding...............

My brother, quotation in Nigeria is no longer reliable. But we must fight to move with better speed, in that way, we minimize the damage that will come from this inflation.
