Election matters are "Sui Generis" meaning a class of their own, with stipulated time frame afforded the Courts to dispense with petitions and give it's judgement. Pitiful as it may sound for the sacked legislators, the sacked lawmakers lacks jurisdiction and are so estopped from returning to the Court of Appeal asking them to reverse themselves, despite the judgement of the Court given per incuriam.. The Supreme Court cannot help their case also because the statute was clear as to where their appellate right stops in Election petition matters. |

Hoelujohn:The final court has ruled and so shall it remain. The decision of the highest court case not be reversed. Again, the case is time bound and the timeframe has expired. |

Bobloco:They're wasting their time and resources. Court of Appeals wouldn't review the judgement of a Tribunal. It doesn't have jurisdiction to review it. Watch it, that Speaker that has refused to swear them in would burn his fingers. The Honorables would get their arrears of salaries and allowance and the speaker will be impeached. |

Constitutionally, the case is statute barred. The lawyer that filed this frivolous suit will be heavily penalized. |
They are simply wasting their time. The highest court regarding their matter has ruled and so shall it be. They should accept their fate and stop chasing shadows. “The highest court is not final because they are infallible, they are infallible because they are final” - Chukwudifu Oputa (JSC). They do make mistakes and then try to correct their mistakes in subsequent decisions. The Supreme Court made a mistake in Duoye Diri vs David Lyon. They accepted their mistake and departed from the judgement in subsequent decisions. That notwithstanding, David Lyon was never retired back. He accepted the unfortunate decision and moved on. That’s how the law works. [/quote The law in the land allows for a review |

seunmsg:I think their case is now statute barred but then these laws are flawed because these courts keep entertaining preelection matters when they should not. My worry is that the APC lawmakers that benefited from that judgment may not be sworn in till their tenure elapses because the speaker of the Assembly cites the supreme court judgement as the basis not to swear them in. #I keep my watch |

You can’t review a case that is statute barred. The case is dead and buried in the cold grave. O tilo. |

Illiterate law makers and speaker. Lol 🤣🤣🤣 I expect the appeal court to fine them heavily including their lawyers. No man on earth can reopen that case. It's dead like dodo. |

COVR:This is the only useful comment I have seen so far. Election matters are time bound, hence, their review has become academic exercise. Your comment made a lot of sense. |
