Olushola whose name was in the manifest, escaped death as he did not board the ill-fated flight after opting to travel by road.

Faleye Olushola, the Special Assistant to the Co-founder and Group Chief Executive Officer of Access Holdings Plc, Herbert Wigwe miraculously escaped death on Friday night in the ill-fated helicopter crash that claimed the lives of his boss, wife and son.




SaharaReporters reported on Saturday that Wigwe; his wife, Chizoba, and son died in a helicopter crash, which occurred on Friday night in the United States.



But somehow, Olushola whose name was in the manifest, escaped death as he did not board the ill-fated flight after opting to travel by road.




According to ThisDay, Olushola flew with Wigwe, his wife, son and former Group Chairman of Nigerian Exchange Group Plc (NGX Group), Abimbola Ogunbanjo from London, United Kingdom to Palm Spring, a city in California, US.



But on getting to Palm Spring, Olushola declined to board the ill-fated flight going to Boulder City in Nevada, insisting that he would not travel by helicopter at night due to the weather conditions.



He was said to have opted to travel to Boulder City by road and escaped the air disaster, that claimed the lives of four others.

Meanwhile, Access Bank Plc has said it lacks “specific information” about the death of the Group Chief Executive Officer, Access Holdings Plc, Herbert Wigwe, who died in a helicopter crash in California near the Nevada border, United States of America.

The bank, however, said it was collaborating with US authorities who will furnish it with more information.

The bank in a tweet on Sunday said, “We have received numerous inquiries concerning an airplane crash in the USA.



“Presently, we lack specific information; however, we are actively collaborating with US authorities who will furnish updates.



“Your understanding and support are valued, and we commit to keeping you informed promptly as we receive updates on the situation.”

Your name can't be on manifest if there's isn't space for you in the aircraft. Some Helicopters can carry up to 8 passengers.

Why not, this is US not Naija. Travelling by night is much quicker and not the dangerous life threatening activity it can be in Nigeria.

I had a friend in UK who preferred to travel on a Friday night to see his mum for the weekend rather than in the evening after work. He would leave at around 9pm rather than 5pm or so to get stuck in traffic for 2 or 3 hours.

I think his journey was London to Manchester though not sure.

They said he was worried about the weather and luck differs. Some people get a premonition before something bad happens, sometimes it comes as a sharp mood swing, watch out for those moments

This na mumu death oh, waste of functional body parts wey suppose be donated to sick people. RIP to their little son who obviously was not part of the foolish arrangement for extravagance.

Night travel was the most preferred in Nigeria until 2007 when all these insecurity started.
