Amunike was African footballer of the year 1994.

Nigeria also met Ivory Coast in the semi finals. Michel Bassole scored, then Iroha equalised, Bassole scored again before Yekini Equalised. It went into penalties and I think Siasia was the one to miss for Nigeria. Bassole, the hero of the Ivorians two goals missed.

Aka Kouamé whom we used to call Kwame Aka was one of their scorers during the penalty kicks. Nigeria went through on penalties to beat Zambia in the finals.

Best players were Yekini and I think Kalusha
