We, the Edo State youths, are appealing to you, our father and king, to use your esteemed position to address the excesses, extortion, and profiling of our youths as yahoo boys by Detective OluwaKemi O. Olawoyin of the Cyber Crime Section (CCS 1), EFCC Benin. We implore you to ensure a proper investigation of this EFCC official for turning our children into ex-convicts, threatening and forcing them into plea bargains, and confiscating their property for personal gain.

The arbitrary arrest, harassment, and extortion of innocent Edo State youths by Detective OluwaKemi O. Olawoyin under the pretext of hunting down Internet fraudsters have created fear and tension among our children and residents of Edo State.

One Madam Patricia Ekeyede, a citizen of Edo State, shared her son's experience of being harassed by Detective OluwaKemi and her armed men, who suspected them of being Yahoo boys or Internet fraudsters. They were stopped, surrounded, and brutally beaten, with their mobile phones seized. This unjust treatment has caused fear and anxiety among the people of Edo State.

Detective OluwaKemi seems to have a biased perception of what an Internet fraudster looks like in Edo State, leading to the wrongful profiling and harassment of innocent citizens. This has resulted in arbitrary arrests, extortion, and forcing innocent Edo children into plea bargains when they have committed no crime.

Furthermore, Detective OluwaKemi and her associates have been reported to engage in overzealous and abusive practices, such as forcing individuals to withdraw money from ATMs and arresting nightclub revelers without solid evidence. These actions not only violate the rights of the citizens but also create an atmosphere of fear and intimidation.

We urge you to use your influence to call for a thorough investigation into the conduct of Detective OluwaKemi and her associates at the Cyber Crime Section (CCS 1) of EFCC Benin. It is essential to ensure that law enforcement agents uphold the rule of law and do not abuse their powers, especially in a democratic society.

We believe that the actions of Detective OluwaKemi and her associates are detrimental to the peace and well-being of Edo State, and we seek your intervention to address these concerns. We trust in your wisdom and leadership to advocate for justice and fairness for the people of Edo State.
