1. If you don't know how you are blessed, you will think your father's farm is worse than your friend father's farm.
2. $1 is ₦1.500 and so what?
3. Let me elucidate from my little experience. Can anyone in the US use $1 for breakfast? No!

4. But in Nigeria, ₦1.500 will give you breakfast and lunch.
5.Majority of people's monthly house rent (self contained apartment) in the USA is $1,000 and above... and that is your own 2 year's rent!
6. Have you ever paid for insurance before? Insurance in the US is $280 and that is almost ₦100,000 monthly.
7. When last did you pay monthly phone bills? I pay almost ₦40,000 monthly and if I don't, they are going to block my SIM. Your own MTN can be there for months without recharge.
8. When last did you work on Saturday and Sunday?
9. This I do compulsorily and on regular basis.
10. Don't get me wrong, the US is better than Nigeria, depending on which angle you are viewing it.
11. Do you want to hear the truth?
12. Many people in Nigeria live a more fulfilling life compared to their counterparts abroad.

13. Forget about all the packaging on social media and give credit to the good life you are living.
14. Do you know why Nigerians living in the US always rush back quickly whenever they come home visiting?
15. Because bills are counting and elongated absence (freedom) will put their lives in jeopardy.
16. If you, as a black person, attempt to emulate the whites, they will kneel on your neck.
17. Apart from Congo, no citizens in the entire universe enjoy life to the fullest than Nigerians.

18. You are abundantly blessed but you don't know until you get visa and relocate abroad, that is when you will know that your 8-hour job in Nigeria with free weekend is awoof.
19. With 11-hour job abroad, you can only pay bills, you need other 6 to 8 hours jobs to save for the future and plan your life.
20. The truth is that the grass is green everywhere, it's lack of vision greed of our leaders/politicians and the skewed religious practices (which placed emphasis on miracles) that ascended Nigeria onto a myopic tentacle of complete standstill.
21. Always thank God wherever you may find yourself. Nigeria is good and will be better.

Did you do basic Economics in secondary school? Cost of living is not higher in those countries because cost of living is measured in relation to per capita income. What is the wage per hour in those countries? Minimum wage in Nigeria is ₦30,000 per month, which is less than ₦145 per hour for someone who works from 8a.m. to 4p.m. for 6 days in a week. For those who work from 8a.m. to 4p.m. for 5 days per week, the 30k gives ₦187.5 per hour. Do you earn as low as this per hour in those countries? You are quick to say that ₦1,500 can get breakfast and lunch in Nigeria. But are you aware that those who work for 6 days in a week need more than 10 hours to earn the ₦1,500 daily and those who work for 5 days per week need 8 hours to earn the same amount daily? So, how many hours will you work in a day in Nigeria to afford breakfast , lunch and the third meal (dinner) for the same day and to settle other daily expenses?

Your comparison is wrong. Explain why a Nigerian who works as a driver in those countries affords the high cost of living in those countries and still affords to buy land and build houses in Nigeria but university lecturers in Nigeria struggle to pay rents in the same Nigeria. Many lecturers in America enjoy higher standards of living than lecturers in Nigeria. Many pensioners in Nigeria slump while struggling to get their pensions. Does it happen that way in those countries? A soldier's salary in Nigeria can't transport him to his village and back to his duty post within the same Nigeria. Does it happen in those countries? Explain these situations if you think your comparison is right. Have you also looked at the balance of payments in those countries and the countries' foreign reserves? Compare them to Nigeria's balance of payment and Nigeria's foreign reserve.

The countries you compare to Nigeria import almost every raw material they use in production. Nigeria has almost every raw material. Why can't Nigeria process the raw materials in Nigeria, make the finished products cheap for Nigerians and also export the finished products? Those other countries import raw materials from Nigeria and export the finished goods to the same Nigeria but you are too blind to understand the situation. The cost of living you praise in Nigeria is mediocrity. Cost of living can be way cheaper in Nigeria if Nigeria is as prudent as the countries you compare to Nigeria.

Don't compare countries that are not equal in terms of natural resources and population. Your logic is like using the price of cement in countries that import cement to justify the price of cement in Nigeria that is naturally blessed with cement. Nigeria has cement and the cement is this costly. Imagine what will happen if Nigeria doesn't have cement.

It is this your logic that some people used to justify increase in fuel price during Buhari's regime. Those people just said fuel was costlier in many other countries. But they didn't explain if those other countries export crude oil like Nigeria. Nigeria has crude oil and fuel is this costly. Imagine what will happen if Nigeria doesn't have fuel.

Even if cost of living is higher in those countries, have you considered lower availability of natural resources in those countries? Yet, those countries manage to build better roads, better hospitals and better schools for you. The leaders of those countries do not waste or embezzle their resources as much as Nigerian leaders do.

But in Nigeria, there are more natural resources, no good roads, not many good schools and not many good hospitals. Imagine what the cost of living in Nigeria will be if Nigeria doesn't have much natural resources and if Nigeria has good raods and steady power supply. Nigerian leaders waste or embezzle Nigerian resources.

In conclusion, Nigeria is worse than those countries. No good roads, steady electricity and water, but house rent is very high.

The season of helter skelter because of Tinubulation grin cheesy. Reasonable Nigerians were waiting for this skelter. We know those who will go to the extent of comparing heaven with hell, light and darkness, bitter and sweet, Black and white, fat and thin as the case maybe in other to defend government of ineptitude

The comparison is all about excuses for failure, incompetence, rascality, cluelessness and hopelessness for Tinubulation.

In 1999, when a dollar was exchanging between 21# - 22# at the official rate, you could have almost 3 square meals in a day. But today 2024 under Tinubulation thesame 1$ dollar is 1500# which might hardly be enough for a breakfast or Lunch

Continue with your comparison, when you finish just come back home and continue doing those things you do in Amelikra grin cheesy cheesy

Lol the only thing constant between the two is 24 hours

Say on minimum wage

You earn 1000 per day that's a full 9 hours work

That's 111 per hours

In the USA you earn $15 minimum per hour 9 hours job gets you $135

So 1000 in Nigeria is equivalent to $135 for an American

Or simple put a Nigerian earnings minimum wage needs 1.5 days pay to eat 2 square meals at 750 per plate

An American needs 1 hour to eat 3 square meals at $5 a plate

I stopped reading the moment you said someone can use $1 to eat breakfast and lunch, because I know say no nonsense you go talk

Are you aware of how much is a bag of rice now in naira, do you know how much is one bag of pure water now, you understand how much gas sells now, you, did you factor in pepper and onion and their crazy prices.

As a single young man living alone I know how much I spend if I really want to eat good, I had no choice but to start cooking for myself because if I use 1500 buy food, he Dey be like na 500 worth, what if I decide to cook it at home and even store some for later, that’s what I did

I know how much I bought gas, pepper, and the rest to cook a proper food for me alone, I spent close to 3k, then I wonder how family or 4 are coping presently, coupled with a dwarfed minimum wage or take home salary, I always cringe

So what ever this guys is saying is not gonna make sense to me

You people just keep comparing cost of living in Nigeria with abroad but don't ever compare the unemployment rate in Nigeria with the employment opportunities that abound in the abroad.
You never compare the minimum wage in Nigeria vs minimum wage abroad. Only dollar vs naira and what they can get you home and abroad all the time.
Even though the cost of living there is higher, at least you'll get the money to maintain it because there are jobs and you can choose to have multiple streams of income but in naija, no jobs to even to earn a decent living and if you manage to get a job after years of searching, the minimum wage may not even be able to afford you the 1500 meal per day considering other bills you have to pay because it's too poor. So it's a struggle surviving on that peanut and it's clearly the reason why you the likes of you ran away from Nigeria in the first place.

if you think naija is better then come back and enjoy the "fufilling" life without jobs and poor minimum wage make body tell you.

useless comparision. $1 = 1500# . You eat with the 1500 at once. But even a gluton cannot eat $1500 food at a stretch. And that is the nominal and fair comparision 1500 to 1500. And do these people also spend 80% of their monthly income on food. Also if you earn 30000$ monthly wage. You are a big boy. Finally why do this idiots alway convert before making comparision

This is complete trash from one smart pants APC follower , he forgot to say that he earns in dollars , I eat far better Nigerian food in the USA , the only problem here is getting into the system from the underground, once you are properly documented the sky is ur limit, the Nigerians complaining are those used to connections , tribalism, bribing , nepotism and have never worked for anything but got east money back home in Nigeria , if u are like me who does not believe in lies and short cuts against the law you will thrive , the mod u can ban me as much as u like I will keep saying the truth

This is pure madness, comparison doesn't work like that esp in a country where everything has stopped working, imagine how frustrating it is having good skills and experience but unfortunately no contract or job to hire you

Imagine seeing your life waste away feeling helpless, my dude just traveled to the same Us and couldn't keep to emself how our life is wasting away over here.
Food and stuffs might be cheap as you claimed but what's the possibility of people purchasing it when they don't have the means.
Such a cursed nation
