The real change starts when salaries of politicians is reduced so that they can feel the pain of the common man.

As long as we continue to pay politicians jumbo salary and pay the common man peanuts.

We are deceiving ourselves.

The same Politicians are sending their kids to uk Universities at the rate of £20,000 per annum
Per Child

They couldn’t afford that if Nigeria was poor

Well the jumbo salaries we pay politicans cannot cover subsidy costs for a year or even six months.

And yes, the jumbo salaries have to be cut regardless.

Nigeria is perhaps the only country in the whole wide world where elite politicians take subsidy from the poor and give to themselves.

They steal public money in billions and nothing happens to them; they steal your oil in thousands of barrel every day and tell the citizens that the country can not produce enough oil to meet OPEC Quota.

Your taxes and pensions are used as extra pocket money for the few elite politicians and civil servants. They have their percentage cut from every contract awards. Say Hi to Gandollar and Co Nigeria Unlimited!!

Are you the spokesperson for the national assembly, those who are benefitting from the rot cannot even defend it like you do.

What the government should subsidize after removing fuel subsidy should be your concern and not this perpetual defense you are doing here.

The US the father of capitalism still subsidized some critical things in their economy.

No, and i even think their salaries should be cut. Drastically cut. Spending money on cars, and the one billion, all that was wrong.

But even if we did that it won't cover subsidy costs.

Ditto the aso rock budget. Again it should be cut.

As for why tinubu cut subsides, it is what happens when 90 % of the income is going for debt service. Which would have risen to over 100% ifwe kept subsidy

Which means pretty soon IMF and World Bank would be our rulers. If you think tinubu or even obi and atiku or even army was bad...

The crux of the matter is that our leaders should live by example.

There are way fuel subsidies can be structured so that they will still have a meaningful impact.

What about subsidizing fuel for tractors?
What about subsidizing school buses?
What about subsidizing trailers? carry agricultural products?
What about subsidizing fuel in rural communities to reduce rural-urban migration and promote farming?

If the government can devise means of collecting tax and limiting tax evasion, they should equally devise means of making subsidies reach the targeted people.

Don't defend the government that allocating billions for themselves but claiming Nigeria is poor

I don't know if you did not clearly see where I said that SALARIES OF OUR LEADERS SHOULD BE CUT.

So, how can I be excusing bad leaders eh?

Stockholm syndrome entails being love with your oppressor as a defence mechanism to deal with their horror on you.

Thanks for the abuse. NO points raised, just sit down and abuse someone that you don't know for nothing

You should behave more maturedly, instead of behaving like a child. You are not a child.

If I did the same to you, or called you by any abusive name, or even said you had stockholm syndrome, you won;t like it at all.

Seriously, what is your problem ? What is the problem with you that you cannot make a point without being abusive.? Did I abuse you? DId I say anything bad to you? WOuld you like it if I came on here and abused you everytime you made a point?

Thanks anyway, your comment is noted. And I will report you to the moderators.

If they ban you, then you will learn not to just come and abuse peoiple for having an opinion.

Thank you for pointing this out. Leadership is an example thing and not a dictatorial thing. Our public servants can't differentiate between kings appointed by spiritual forces and public servants appointed to serve because of capacity or skill and ability to get things done.

Stupidity is not a virtue to behold. I would have fraternized with mods to start netting unwarranted punishment on user too. I am not just stupid like some people here.

It takes a total mental case to weigh his or her own mental state by his or her own self anyways.

Yea, so I am stupid.

You guys never learn

If I spoke of you the way you have just spoken of me, you would not like it.

Good morning. Learn to accept the world does not rotate around you and your view of life.

I will never ever call you stupid or suffering from stockholm syndrome.

By your logic one million people sharing 1 million Naira
are as rich as one hundred people sharing 1 million Naira.

Yes, politicians emoluments should be cut down and that is
because the country is poor not rich.
