CharleyBright: His wife cannot help Igbos and majority of Igbos don't even know nor have ever heared about her. She's probably helping her relatives and uninformed people like you think Igbos are benefitting. Akpabio might also be helping his own relatives but you want him to help other Akwaibomites he doesn't know. The world doesn't work that way 7 Likes |

koondog: Abiriba is more related to Ibibio than Igbos ? The way some of you attachees go about grovelling to riverine people is so nauseating. People who don't send you and are killing you over land tussles out of envy and hatred . The writer is from Akwaibom, full blooded Ibibio, Da Zion Umoh. Go and read his constant anti Igbo posts to which Ibibio people gbam to daily. If Abiriba people have issues tomorrow, it's not Ibibio that will come to your aid but it's Igbos but you are here claiming stupid relationship over Igbos. 2 Likes |

I would think this is more a case of nepotism. The wife is probably looking after the interests of her relatives and friends who only happened to be Igbo like her. She is not going to help any Igbo that is not in her cycle of friends and family. Take up your issue with Akpabio and leave Ndiigbo alone Biko We no send una. 6 Likes 1 Share |

InyinyaAgbaOku: Afonjaa, let me advise you, Ibibio and Efik are not Riverine people, they are in the SE, faraway from the deltas or major waters. You don't even know simple Nigerian map of Igbos states situated between riverine states and Akwa-Cross. SMH The problem with you divisive people is you don't travel, don't know people, you just sit in your mud house and concoct nonsense. Can you differentiate between Igbos, Ibibio and Efik by look? You cannot because they are one people and look alike like siblings. But we can differentiate between Easterners and Yorubaa because we are not the same people and don't look alike. Yorubas look more like Beniniose, Togelese and South Sudanese people. We don't look like that and stop attaching yourself to us. I'm telling you all these to stop wasting your tome dividing us and creating fake Facebook profile of an invisible Ibibio person to stoke division between Igbos and Ibibio. Even Ibibio people know you Yorubaa very well, how Adenkunle aka Black Scorpion massacred Ibibio young men during the war. When asked why, he said we know they are the same people as Igbos. https://www.nairaland.com/7793401/adekunle-massacred-ibibio-elders-children.asari 1 Like 1 Share |

crossfm: I'm still trying to figure out how he cunningly involved Igbos into this nonsense. I'm afraid these Nigerians might vent their frustrations on Igbos which might result to another pogrom, one was telling me how we are the ones increasing the prices of goods and blaming the government. 2 Likes 1 Share |

sageb: Not exactly. But the OP is right about Igbo wives being nepotistic and giving jobs to their Igbo relatives alone. Nneoma Akpabio as Governor's wife was notorious for scheming Igbo people into Akwa Ibom State civil service until we fought back and kicked them all out. ALL OUT. It was so bad Igbos began boasting they control Akwa Ibom. It's one of the reasons any person contesting as Governor or Senator in Akwa Ibom with an Igbo wife has another hurdle. It worked against Nsima in 2019. Same thing Akeredolu's wife did. Igbo first ladies are notorious for trying to hijack what rightly belongs to indigenes to their Igbo relatives. I trust Da Zion Umoh. Now that he's mentioned it, it would be addressed. Akpabio had to plead when it got to a head as Governor. We'd revisit the issue and address it. If it isn't addressed, Akpabio would pay for it during the elections. But Akpabio has used his power as Senate President to help a lot of Akwa Ibomites though. Many people I know have been appointed into high and federal offices, including a very close associate of mine recently. Many got civil service jobs too. Nneoma Akpabio, like most Igbo first ladies married outside their tribes, tends to overdo it. The Igbos wouldn't have taken it if Obi's wife (an Ibibio) tried that as first lady in Anambra. They scream tribalism but dish it out on a daily. 5 Likes 1 Share |

Abagworo: Dude, shush it! I'm Ibibio. Unoma Akpabio, like most Igbo first ladies, is notorious for that. It almost cost her husband a second term as Governor when Akwa Ibom people revolted against her. She toned down in 2015 but has begun again. We'd never forget how she tried to flood Akwa Ibom State Civil Service with Igbos and the prejudice she displayed at Maitama, Uyo. No Igbo state would tolerate it. Her antics has put a question mark on the ambition of politicians with Igbo wives in the state. Ask anyone versed in Akwa Ibom politics to confirm this. 2 Likes |

DissTroy:You know ma main man, I honestly don't know why most women do this, and to make matters worse, their husbands always tend to sit back and let them. I'm still trying to fix my thoughts around it, but still can't. I mean, I will never, never! Allow my wife interfere with my work, friends and family. That's the three lines she won't cross. Even the women I dated, I gave them this strict rule, ones you cross it, that's it. There's no "I'm sorry". There's just something morbid about it. A woman sits her ass down, gets married to a man with money, then, she feels entitled to the man's money because she's his wife? Like what tha Bleep! Imagine if the actions of Akpabio's wife had cost him his second bid as Governor, what would his entitled wife had said? "I'm sorry" then she offers him pussy and all is okay? Look bro, this is something I will never take! I've mapped out specific ways of dealing with women who have such mindsets, who come my way. 1 Like 1 Share |

koondog: My friend, go and sit down, I am an Igbo person. Mgbe niile unu ana acho ndi na anaghi acho unu. How many ibibios will make this post the way you made it. How can you be proud of associating with ibibios than your fellow Igbos , bikonu? Have ibibios ever come to Igbo aid in all their existential struggles ? Same thing with Biafra . Instead of agitating for a homogenous Igbo nation, you are looking for liabilities that are not emotionally invested in the issue. Tomorrow, they will be making demands on you for a lot of things expecting to be pampered or else they pull out. You have to develop self respect and stop dragging Igbo people backwards with this reasoning. As far as no Ibibio person would make this type of post, respect yourself too. This is a thread from a Facebook post where Ibibio are attacking Igbos and you are here claiming relationship. Smh 5 Likes |

DissTroy: If they are only helping out their relatives then that's not tribalism, that's nepotism. You people can hate Igbo people all you like, it isn't going to make your country or your lives better. My only advice for you people is to start agitating for your own country now because when the Igbos leave, you will have to face the Fulanis and Yorubas alone. |

Ngozi123: No, it's tribalism when the only relatives you help are from your tribe. I repeat, Igbo first ladies are very notorious for this and it fuels some of the sentiments against Igbos in many places. I haven't even described one-twentieth of how nepotistic Nneoma Akpabio was a First Lady. Thank goodness my people woke up to tame her. Same way Betty Akeredolu has killed the chances of any Ondo Governorship candidate with an Igbo wife. No matter how nepotistic and domineering any of the presidential first ladies we've ever had were/are, I can guarantee you, if those first ladies were Igbo women, they'd do worse. I state this knowing someone would quote this in the future on a thread I frequent here and I stand by it, including on any platform. 3 Likes 1 Share |

DissTroy: Most people's relatives are from the same tribe as them, unless they have a multiethnic background. So, I fail to see how this could be a case of tribalism, not nepotism. Don't get me wrong, I think it's wrong. People should only be hired based on their ability to do the job well, not on how well they know 'the boss' or his wife. However, I do not like this "Igbos are taking over" trope. It started from before the civil war and despite the fact that no Igbo man has been in power since then, it still exists now. |

Ozommadu:this has been the trend since the time of immemorial. If your labor party come to Power, Aisha Yesufu and obidient will do anything different. The same attributes attached to all the political parties and their supporters. Politics is all about interest of what you would gain from it in Nigeria.
