This Is Not The Right Time For Obi's " Thank You Tour". by Localemperor(op): 1:24pm On Feb 18, 2024
Peter Obi has said that he would be embarking on a thank you tour in order to thank his supporters for their immense support during the last election.

This are the implications of this tour

1. It's might just be the trigger that would start a great up rising. People are suffering, there is already protests every where and now you want to embark on "I told you tour".

2. The North might capitalize on it, what they needed is a face of the brand and someone that would take responsibility. All they need to do is to fund the rebellion that comes from the said tour.

3. He wants to rob it on the face of opposition ( especially APC supporters who are suffering untold hardship that I told you so.

Solutions

1. It's either the government bans such tour using security risks as an excuse but there is freedom of association.

2. Tinubu should extend a hand to Obi. Elections are over, the South is divided. The support the president needs right now at this disy moment is a united south.

3. Allow everything to play naturally and dam the consequences. Just like the Murphy's law " Anything that has the chances of happening will happen". There are different possibilities how things might turn out.

Just say you are not used to this
Government cannot ban his thank you tour as a private citizen.
It is like saying government should ban him from going to watch Nigeria live matches.

In as much as it is his inalienable right to associate and travel, I agree with @op that with our politically charged atmosphere and the ravaging hunger in the land occasioned by inflation and our plummeting purchasing power, his handlers and advisers should impress on him to see the imperative need to shelve this thank you tour.

He risks being leveraged upon by traumatized Nigerians to start an uprising that may be difficult to quell or there could be a staged attack on his person also resulting to anarchy.

OP if Peter Obi is your problem, you have none. Peter Obi did not distribute Ebim pawa Please, face Emilokan, the "destroyer of Nigeria economy "

For your information, there is nothing like United South. There has never been a time the South collectively voted any president or prime minister and it will NEVER happen.

He has shown gratitude enough. I think the thank you tour is unnecessary. What of TV broadcast and / or social media.

OP, what are you afraid of?

This is a thank-you tour.

A tour to thank all supporters of Peter Obi, Obidients, and those who worked for, supported, and voted for Peter Obi.

For the umpteenth time, there is no united south.

Tinubu destroyed it in 2015, when he ganged up with the north to traunket Goodluck Jonathan's re-election.

This is the reaction of a man that is afraid of himself the way darkness trembles once the name of 'Light' is mentioned.

Your write-up holds no value, rather an advice to the government to go dictatorship way in a democratic setting.

People's agitation and hunger were not caused by Obi and for that reason, Obi and his lawful activities should be kept out of the blames. You doctored what you people called 'yes daddy' audio to rope Obi into religious sentiments, that didn't work. Now you want to associate him witb the woeful failures of illegitimate candidate that bought election victory for himself, that is too mischievous and childish of you.

We all know who is behind all the useless news on Nairaland for the past 2 weeks.

What he is looking for, he will get soon.

Obi should please embark on his "thank you tour" as soon as possible.
Nigerians are eagerly waiting for him. We missed him, he shouldn't have stopped campaigning after the elections.
