Many African countries have changed
their colonial given names, I wonder
why Nigeria has not opened discussion
on this. After all, we even changed our
colonial, though better national anthem..

A few Examples countries that changed
their colonial names after independence..

👉Benin Republic was "Dahomey"

👉Burkina Faso was "Upper Volts"

👉Ghana Was was "Gold Coast"

👉Niger Republic was "French Sudan'

👉Zimbabwe was Southern Rhodesia

And many more.
But Goldesia
and
Gold Coast sounds cool sha!

Africans and stupidity. Imagine perpetuating what a few white men designed for their selfish benefit. Imagine if it was Asians or Europeans that some race sat at a table and shared like cake. Even Arab tribe won't permit it. It can only be the black race tolerating rubbish. None would have the boldness to ask why.
Europeans colonized Asia and Arab to a large exteny,so wat are u saying. Syria,Lebanon were all created by US,UK and France after WW1

We would have changed the name since to any other name.

Like the Rodesians did in southern Africa
You haven't managed to change the name "Nigeria" created in London by a white woman, imported into West Africa, and imposed on you

A country destiny is not tied to its name
You want this lot to allocate 1bn to setup a committee to look into name change
Embezzle the money
Set up another one and so and so

Nigeria was to be named Goldesia after Sir George Taubman Goldie (the British imperialist who sold Nigeria to Britain for £865,000 in 1899), but he 'tastefully declined' the offer.

Flora Shaw, who would later become the wife of Lord Frederick Lugard, then popularised the name "Nigeria" and successfully campaigned for the adoption of the name via the publication of five separate articles in 1897. #HistoryVille
How did Goldie own 'Nigeria' that he had the right to 'sell' it?

Sir George Taubman Goldie

My Jew radar is going berserk.

When I posted here that Nigeria was a Jewish owned Corporatist state aka Royal Niger with the star of temphan boldly inscribed in the colonial flag some of you called me a conspiracy nut case.

Sir George Taubman Goldie advocated for and got the first corporate liscence of an entire populace.

This is what WEF is calling for - a return to corporatism to replace national governments.

1.Goldie was not a Jew. That the name sounds Jewish does not mean it is a Jewish names. He was a Scot, from an old Scottish family that settled on the Island of Man, and as such was also regarded as a Manx man (a celt).

2.What goldie did was similar to what Rhodes did, which was similar to how the UK did in India. Because the UK did not have the cash or men to conquer lands immediately...they awarded a charter to a british run company, which would raise money by trade and do the conquering for them. That's how they got India, the USA (Yes, the USA), Rhodesia and South Africa and Nigeria.

(Me thinks such charters were similar to the letters of marque that the British government used to give to pirates like the famous Captain Morgan to raid spanish ships for gold. Countries have always stabbed themselves in the back, world without end).

Infact just read how India was won and how Nigeria was won...started with the British India company and the Royal Niger company, then at some point the UK government takes over when the company can no longer handle being a company and a government

Any sale of the country was nullified by us getting independence, and also by us becoming a republic.

We ceased to be property of the british by October 1 1960.

So? Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Pakistan, Indonesia, Malaysia, were all "property" of a Christian country. What brought the Christian countries to the Muslims land ought to have been your question. Stop publicly making a carricature of your empty self so brazenly.

Re: Goldesia: The Name Earlier Proposed For Nigeria by Asabaproperty1: 10:14am On Feb 22, 2024
So Nigeria was sold to Britain for £865,000 by a man not from Nigeria? Wonderful. Indirectly it means Britains owns Nigeria till date because the money has not been returned. I think the seller refused the Britain the buyer from Changing name from Nigeria to Goldsia so Nigerians will not know they had been sold., I think I should go and discover one part of the world and sell now too. Who can buy back Nigeria from Britain?
Re: Goldesia: The Name Earlier Proposed For Nigeria by Broveens42(m):
cutecommend:
(1) What is the spiritual meaning of Nigeria?
(2) Why was Nigeria not like a mistake when the whites were ruling?
(3) Why do some feel Nigeria is a mistake when Nigerians started ruling?
(4) Why were Igbos, Yorubas and Hausas not in deep war when the whites were ruling?
(5) Why was there war 7 years after independence?
(6) Don't you think Nigerians should study the progress of Igbos after they lost millions to death in civil war and lost a lot during the civil war?
(7) Where they religious crisis when the whites were ruling?
(cool Don't you think Nigeria's problem is a black man's problem?
(9) Don't you think Nigeria would have been like Europe if independence was gotten in 1995.
(10) Do you regret being a Nigerian?
1. There's nothing like spiritual meaning. Simply put, it has no meaning
2. Because houses with poor foundation don't just collapse, it may take years to realize that, no matter how catchy such buildings were.
3. Because they don't understand foundation of a building, is more important than architectural ingenuity.
4. Your question rightly suggest nationhood that was built on a wrong foundation (amalgamation) and only a matter of time, you would notice the cracks
5. Just like asking why do you begin to notice cracks on the wall of a building built on a wrong foundation.
6. They only thing they need is to return to nationhood and not study any body. Isolating many igbos to only 5 states raised the status of nationhood and hence progress of igbos. Simply put, blessing in disguise
7. The poor building was still at the foundation level
8. It's a white man's problem. Because they needed resources not common in their own environment.
9. No, because Europe is all about human Development(their weapon against Africa) and not artificial beauty (their convenience in Africa)
10. If I don't regret being Nigerian, then it's safe to say I'm insane. Because, it takes insanity to lie to yourself that you are a nation, when your actions and inactions say otherwise.

Go and read your history.

Western Imperialism permeated every stretch of both Asia and Africa until recently. Even till date, africans arent the only victims of imperialism.

Ask yourself why Imran Kahns Pti party was dissolved and himself imprisoned by Pakistani authorities, at the behest of US interests.

Is pakistan in africa?
