Just yesterday, I read the saddening reports of how the search for cheap rice claimed the lives of some Nigerians in Lagos. According to the report, a massive crowd of hungry Nigerians had besieged the Zonal Office of the Nigerian Customs Service in Yaba, Lagos, to purchase the discounted 25kg bags of rice being offered by the Customs Service. In the course of the heavy stampede that ensued, some lives were lost. It is heartbreaking to think that despite all the wealth of our nation, Nigerians are losing their lives in their desperate quest to buy cheaper food in the face of the growing hunger and starvation in the country.Peter Obi

Majesty2:🥵 Yes o! Peter Obi must learn his lessons in a very hard way. BTW, hope you didn't sustain any injury from the rice stampede yesterday? My prayers are with you all, the self acclaimed patriots and lovers of Nigeria that don't want to see the affairs of the country being driven by the wrong person(Peter Obi) babeface3: charlypoker:You guys should stop disgracing the obidient family with your shallow reasoning. This is the reason why BATidiot urchins make mockery of us, call us braindead, but the two of you, who happen to be obidients, proved them right by failing woefully to realize that the above is just a sarcasm to the fo0l I quoted. They think they're teaching Peter Obi, a Man that, even his hundredth generation, would never experience hunger, a lesson. While they (the BATidiot urchins) not sure of where their next meal would come from. |

When you become Biafra president, encourage Biafra to go for farming. The north that you and your people hated so much, you are now encouraging them for agriculture, what happens to southeast land for agriculture, oga, shut up if you have no meaningful thing to say. Tell your iPob to go to the farm and stop them from migrating to the southwest for survival daily. |

Everything shouldn't be abt politics,my sincere condolence to those that died, every economy reform all over the world always come with some inconveniences and after sometimes the positive impacts will be noticed, but the only fear I have with nigerias' own is that the gains from the inconveniences might by misused and embezzled by the same people that brought the reforms. Anyway, let us all give Tinubu a little more time, he might surprise all of us,because these reforms are the only way to go, if you desire better infrastructure and development. |

My concern is why is FG selling confiscated foodstuffs that they claimed to be palliative? It would have even been better if the money realized is even going to government coffer. Smh for this country |

It was the same Lagos where political thuggery reigned supreme, tribalism was used as a weapon of war against the competent candidate through the instrumentality of Yoruba Ronu.See how a foodvendor's child lacks food to eat,see how a cobbler's child has no shoes to wear. |

I knew it was all a set up. When my elder sister drew my attention about the discounted 25kg bag of rice for #10,000, I knew the aftermath won't be pleasing. |

Obi, show them say na statistics we go chop. Instead of showing Nigerians how to fish, these greedy polithiefians prefers to give the masses fish. Make them wretched, let them come begging for the crumbs. Personally, l have no pity for anyone that brought this calamity on us. They died fighting for what they believed in but if they are ordinary Nigerians that went to source for what to keep their body and soul together, Rip to them!!! |

Agriculture is the key Open up the villages with basic things that are available in the cities to attract people into agriculture and end insecurity We have fertile land for farming, ordinary pen and suit will not bring food to our markets at cheap rate if we don’t farm Government should go into agriculture on large scale, mechanized farming with tractors rather than just buying SUVs for commissioners, LG chairmen , rep members, special advisers , ambassadors, ministers, etc . too many SUVs, Divert the SUVs funds for tractors for mechanized farming, too many Okada riders doing the risky job, channel that as labor force for mechanized farming , you have the power to do this as government. Products of our universities of agriculture will also fit in |

Very heart breaking. Just look what people have been reduced to. Some people were on the floor while others were sitting on them just in the name of getting rice at cheaper price, even though it later became free eventually. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RUz5l7Kw4M8 |
