Hello at the @bassdow and other bosses in the house. Pls can i put these panels in series. Isc current of the 580w is higher than the max isc of the inverter which is 13A. I was hoping the isc of the 475w which os 11A will drag down the isc of the 580w which is 14.7A. Is it possible??
Any solution Anyone??

see eh, most times, I'm in here to relieve stress hence no dey too spend time dey read plenty BUT let me quickly give you a response.
I don talk am before, though most professionals disagreed with me. Combining a higher Solar Panel e.g 300w solar panel with anything lower would drag the 300W down to the lowest panel's capacity.

Yea connection type (series or parallel might make little difference). Anyways, just observe the VOCs to check if they're close enough but from the image you shared, baba the 580w go work as 475w which should work with your setup, without damaging anything

Good evening, please what’s the cable size I should get for a 300watt solar panel .
Tho, I intend to add 1 more 300watt to the system soon. What size of cable should I do for that will accommodate a 2 300 watt solar panel in the future

Oga, save yourself, and your finances the stress and get that NEPA wire sold by omo`ibo down the street.

Yea that same wire that draws light from the electric pole to your house. The coating of the wire is ash in colour.

A bundle should be more than enough though that depends on distance.

Cost of a bundle, is so much cheaper than that copper wire advertised as solar cable.

That wire would handle even 4pcs of 300w solar panels all in parallel.

But please feel free to buy the copper cable if your pocket no get wahala

How sure are you that you wouldn't be needing more than 2pcs ?
abi by then, you would scrap the cable for a much thicker one.

One thing about SOlar systems, if you purchase things without planning, or purchase things in bits, you end up spending much more

Read up a bit on what you wish to accomplish and then use this calculator. https://www.fabhabs.com/dc-cable-sizing-calculator Note that your cable size depends on how you may wish to couple the extra panel. In series or in parallel

10mm would give me a chance to upgrade later? The installer quoted 6mm he said I would need 12meter and na 4k per meter. That’s why I come here say make I come ask my Oga’s here

For my current space I don’t think I can get more than 2 panals. Due to space and funds

well you know your space better BUT for me, nothing remains constant.

one day, you go want to upgrade one way or the other. except say na your own house, and you don swear say you no go ever outGrow am.

Copper is a better conductor but costs so much more. Aluminium is good conductor, though not exactly like copper but you hardly would notice it. And it's so much cheaper.

Aluminium cable could cost just 10,000 naira , when Copper cable of shorter length, would cost upwards of 50,000 naira.

For me, I rather spend more getting better quality Batteries, Charge Controllers, Solar Panels, Inverter.

My ogas in the house, pls i need ur help? Got a must 5kva 48v hybrid inverter with mppt volt range of 60 to 130vdc and VOC of 145vdc. I have 8 panels of 300w with ffl specs of Vmp 32.7, Voc 39.3, Imp 9.18 and Isc 9.65. What's best way to connect it. Distance from roof to charger is about 15m. Installer recommends 2 strings of 4 panels in series then parallel both strings. Also wud a 6mm solar cable suffice or its too small? Thanks for ur help.
Still need more options pls.. what's the ideal panel configuration with this system. Thanks

If fund is not an issue, buy 1 extra panel and tell him to run 3s3p

If fund isn't an issue, I would suggest u get an additional 300watt panel of same rating and do 3s3p, moreso if it's certain that u won't be upgrading in the future, then 6mm cable is sufficient else 10mm will be fine going into the future of adding additional 300watt x 6panels

Good morning professionals
Thanks for those that posted that fouani is now selling jinko panels, they are as well into inverter(growat), Huawei lithium battery and one other brand lithium battery, but they are much more expensive.
I need the professional input, I already have this set up

2 200w zinox panel

1 220w tokunbo panel(brand name forgotten, just added few months ago)

30a epever mppt cc

1 220ah Mercury tall tubular battery

1kva nexus inverter.

Presently I intend full upgrade to 3 - 3.5kva inverter and lithium battery of 5kwh.

1. Will 4 pcs of 435w jinko panels mono facial suffice full charge?

2. Is it advisable to use an hybrid inverter in terms of durability, efficiency and stability, if yes, what brand?
3. Can I still use the former set up alongside, the panels and the cc excluding the battery and inverter... Thanks for your input
