Several generating companies have been given licence to distribute power by Buhari.

He was an adviser to Obasanjo on power & was power Minister under president Goodluck Jonathan, he had the best record, but electricity workers union fought for him to be removed....

He had a reputation for firing incompetence. Whenever Turn around maintenence was to be done on power plants he was always first on site, he is also a pioneer Dean of Engineering of a faculty Engineering in a university in Canada .

Unfortunately 2 things counted against him, first of which he was hated by workers Union.

Secondly, he had shares in Manitoba Engineering, that company has a hand in more than 50 percent of Contracts within the power sector.

He knows the job, when vice president Sambo was reviewing certain contracts awards bid for Turn Around Maintenence, he informed the review board (of which he was Secretary) that he couldn't participate in the contract reveiw as a company he has shares in applied for that contract. He walked out, electricity workers used that to accuse him of corruption & he was made to resign.....

Aside from President Jonathan, he was also guarded by Soldier because of death threats after he cancelled many lopsided contracts & fired all the TCN managers in one day.

After he left, President Goodluck tried to convince him to return, because he had come to understand that workers didn't want him because he was making them do the work and doesn't compromise.

Jonathan went so far to track the Igwe of his village to beg, but Oga Barth refused. He gave a full page statement in the press before his resignation & told Nigerians what to expect after he leaves.......he was right

Tinubu like most politicians have political debts to pay to those who brought him to power. This they pay in their first term.

If he wins a second and last term, he would start appointing technocrats.

Even Shagari, started selecting technocrats during his second term, to the point of appointing people he did not know.

However, a coup brought his second term to an end

Dude was already building power stations all over the place before he was made power minister. Afterwards, he was asked to step aside during privatisation because he cannot set the examination and still participate in it.

However, the time he was power minister, Nigerians experienced a significant improvement in power supply. No, I don't expect you to admit this because you are a typical APC glutton who will write or say anything to defend these crooks in power!

So, 8.8 MW IPP that litters Lagos is not mediocrity? Ordinary traders in Ariaria market in Aba built 9.5MW to power their market without making noise. All the IPPs in Lagos has 47MW combined capacity. But according to a Yoruba man, 197.5 MW 1(88 MW + 9.5MW) is mediocrity while 47MW is not.

Give credit to whom credit is due. Power supply was reasonable under Barth. I can recall having almost 24/7 power with few minutes interruption then.

I had atleast 18 hours daily under Barth
