Russia invested in its military for two reasons: to protect itself from external aggression and to prevent disintegration due to religious and cultural differences.

I don't believe he has to account for anything. It is common knowledge that NATO troops are on ground in Ukraine. Those who agreed to go must surely have some plausible deniability clause in their contract. Also, many of the French guys in Ukraine are members of the French Foreign Legion, so are easily deniable as they cannot be classified as regular troops.

Also, if you remember, in January, Russia claimed to have killed 60 French soldiers in a strike on Kharkiv. France came out to say it was Russian disinformation and that France has no soldiers in Ukraine. Russia released some names, only for France to double-down and say the guys were not French soldiers but people with French nationality serving in the Ukrainian military, and that Russia only got the names through a leak.

French foreign legion is part of the french military and contrary to what its name suggests, many of its soldiers are french (many are foreigners, I don't know the proportions).
All the officers of the french foreign legion are french and they are even the best officers of the french military.
And I'm going to guess that the soldiers won't be sent without their officers.
Well only the future will tell if I'm right about accountability or if you are right.

I don't know if the translators did this on purpose, but as a guy whom is fluent in french, what I saw was macron talking about "officially sending troops" and clearly insinuating that the west has been sending troops unofficially.
He said there was no agreement to officially and openly send troops to Ukraine, but sending troops to Ukraine should always be an option.

Some of these leaders might be hoping for ww3, because nothing else will save them from accountability to their people. The decisions which they have taken are illegal in their own constitutions and their decisions have damaged their countries' interests.
Only ww3 can give them an escape from legal repercussions. Just my opinion.

These guys are hell-bent on bringing the whole world into nuclear confrontation just to escape accountability to their people. Every sane thinking person knows that any NATO official troop deployment to Ukraine would instantly lead to nuclear confrontation. Macron is crazy to have publicly insinuated such a scenario. I don't know what type of cult they belong that they can afford to care less for the survival of their people. The man had so much to throw at Ukraine, but cannot afford to meet the needs of farmers in France. Something is definitely wrong with the psychic of most of these western leaders.
