Yesterday, the Railways sold tickets but suspended services because of the NLC protests. I mustered courage and drove from Kaduna to Abuja. I found out that all the dangerous spots where terrorists lay siege are now dominated by the presence of well armed soldiers with armoured vehicles.

I was able to stop by a few villages and ask the opinions of the locals on the security situation, they confirmed that things are far better now and they feel safer. This was the road where cases of kidnappings and killings occurred on a daily basis in the past.

Kudos to the Military, the CDS and other Service chiefs, the NSA and other security agencies keeping vigil.

However, when the train resumes na train I go still de use.

The rate of insecurities reduced in the past few weeks and it now look like someone just use one magic wand and say decrease for now.

I won’t praise the military guys just yet, let’s give it few more months and it their brilliance continue, then they deserve all the commendation and the president can talk all of it.

Buhari was both a disaster as a General and President,even in security where he supposed to have done well as a military General he was a great disaster.

Security is serious business,and is multifaceted, therefore needs a multidimensional approach to get it recalibrated holistically. One efficient way to improve the security situation is to redefine our reward system for whistle blowing.

Apart from placing bounty and pegging a prize for perpetrators of dastardly acts.
If government can be strategic in the protection of Whistlers who can aid in uncovering the nefarious activities of unscrupulous elements it would go a long way.

Those involved in clandestine activities like bunkering,arms proliferation, terrorism,abduction, rustling,trafficking, infrastructural vandals(electricity,railways,telecommunications,)etc are not invincible.
