Hi Everyone
Just wanted to say that I finally got my study visa and I am currently in Cape Town.
The whole process was just a miracle cos I applied 9th November 2023 and got a rejection on the 29th of Jan 2024, I reapplied immediately on the 6th of February and after 5 days, I was called to submit my passport for visa.

Thanks to everyone that keep responding to questions here, May God bless you all.

P.S: someone asked here if they require a return ticket for study visa applicants, I had a one way ticket and no one asked me for my return ticket, all they were asked me for was my yellow fever card and admission letter.

If your visa was not approved sir, Kindly re-apply. I used to be very disgruntled in the past if such occurred to me, these days i have gone pass that level and i worry less about these kind of things. No embassy or consulate is mandated to grant anyone visa, they are at free-will to approve the visas of applicants.
No one can hold them to ransom. It is their country.
However, we must also acknowledged the lackadaisical attitude of the approving officers occasioned by a number of factors.

To cut this story short, Kindly re apply sir.

It is dodgy if they contact the bank and expect to be given details about the accounts. In most countries it is strictly forbidden for banks to give any details about the accounts to any person, except the owner. They do not even tell a third party if someone has an account with them or not. DHA is completely unprofessional here...

I even know another person from my bank who submitted a statement from a bank that was not even in English, not translated, no signature, no stamp, and visa was approved! While anothe person, with the statement from the same bank, translated, signed and stamped on every page, with reference letter...was rejected! These people are a disgrace...

1. Please note that a country reserves the right to grant or deny any application to visit their country. So, there is no need to be confrontational.
2. Please kindly remove the phone number in the personal chats. It is highly unprofessional and unethical. The right to the chat belongs to both you and the person on the other end, furthermore, it is not nice that you displayed the person's details on a public forum as this , to what end exactly?

Thanks.

This is the site to use in apply for e-visa?
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by odimbannamdi(m): 7:28am On Mar 02
Africankel:
1. There's been a change in the issuing pattern for SA visas. I'm told the new Consular-General (Not High Commissioner), now issues visa validity from 10 days to 3 months (Three months is the maximum for short stay). Hence the previous statutory three-month validity rule, no longer apply. The stay on sticker visas has never been three months. While you may be offered a three month validity visa, you are only allowed to stay for 30 days on each visit, as long as the visa remains valid.

2. If you arrive SA on 27/02/2024, you'll be authorised to stay for a period of 30 days, not two days.

Please, what is sticker visa?

Just in case this question is yet to be answered; you can book an apartment on booking.com. I do that always for my trips to support my visa application and it always works

Bros, Patience is key and clear understanding. First, I reiterate again, no visa officer is under the mandate to grant visa to an applicant. If your visa was approved, we prolly will not be hearing this. Re apply , I advise. I had similar thing in the past. I take disappointment and re inforce for another re application. I do not understand why you are so furious over a visa refusal. It is important you learn to handle rejections Sir.
antobogdan:
@hunee :Sorry, i do not agree with anything you said!!
1. Very unprofessional and unethical is only what that DHA employee wrote to me.
2. No, a normal/civilized/developed country has a clear procedure to grant/reject visas and follows it to the letter. Especially when they take your money in the form of the fee. They don;t just reject/approve them on an arbitrary basis like South Africa does.

So, please, do not come with things like this, i am not at the first visa application. I obtained the United States Visa just in a couple of minutes(they didn;t even asked for any bank statement, and it is for 10 years!!). I obtained an Australia Evisa in a matter of days. But these are developed states not failed states like SA!!!

3. Reapply on their absurd evisa system? Only if i have no respect for myself and my money for the fee...

I don;t get how someone could support what DHA does. But again, i don't know what country are your form, maybe this is the way of thinking there in Africa, that a country has its right to treat visa applicants like trash...maybe that's why the continent still stays in misery and undevelopment....
And yes, i will publish that print screen everywhere, in fact it is already on its way to many travel sites/media etc. So everybody knows that they treat applicants like shit, and to not waste their money and time with that catastrophe evisa system.
Thank you!

And not, i am not mad anymore on the stupid DHA, especially as i have already obtained my tax fee back with a chargeback procedure.
I am only writing this so it is one more case that proves their absurdity.
Again, You have US, Aus , this visa and that, is not an automatic assurance.
Many had schengen,Uk , Canada visas, been to so many countries, and their visas still get rejected. You need to understand the process, so you can handle rejections. It is not always an automatic thing!
You try and you keep trying.

Last ,
Very unprofessional and unethical - Feedback was from the other person not mine. I can not comment over a screenshot, i was not part of the conversation.

Have a great day.

Hi,
Trust you are fine.
Thank you for the compliment. smiley
Sorry about your ongoing ordeals with the DHA.
Most times, when you do not see the eye icon, the visa was not approved.
This is general observation as many persons has confirmed this to be true.
I advise you re apply for an evisa and attach an appeal letter with your supporting documents explaining what happened in the previous application and your outlook for the present application.
It should be a gentle appeal.
I have sent this advise to someone here who contacted me in the past and it worked.
As regards, sticker visa for SA, Kindly note the processing times. I waited 4 month for mine to be approved and paid about 80k for the entire process last year.
I advise you re- apply and hope for the best this time.
Finally, i recently sent a mail to the home affairs to make some inquiries and the response was thus.
1. If you are applying for a visa, ensure your bank statement is 3 month or more.
2. Ensure you attach a reference letter from your bank.
3. Ensure the first and the last pages of your bank statement are signed and stamped, if not all.
It is also on record as someone here confirmed that banks do not acknowledge the home affairs inquiry on an applicant bank statement on time. These delays in feedbacks lead to rejections of these affected persons. This is an internal affairs not everyone is exposed to. So sometimes if your visa gets rejected, it could be the bank verification process was not successful.

Be sure to carry along your bank by sending them an official email when your application exceeds the processing times especially for first timers.

I wish everyone the best. Goodluck

Nice tips here

oluayebenz:

@hunee. What's the process, stop supporting what's not right
The process is that when you get rejected a visa, you re apply.
I had rejections, I was disgruntled, unhappy with the process but later I realized and understood that I have no option but to re apply.

Understand that embassy's and consulates also have a quota for visa approvals.

I say to you sir and ma. Oluaye , you know I like constructive engagement. I am also very objective and factual.
I say to you. No visa officer is under any applicant mandate to give them automatic approval.
It is better you understand this process and re apply with a convincing appeal and hopefully you get an approval.
There's no point tearing down the building.
South Africa 🇿🇦 get their own for body, I acknowledged that above.

Why so bitter?

antobogdan:
@hunee. Oh please, stop with the nonsense.
They have "quotas"? So you admit they take the money from the applicants and give decisions arbitrarily, regardless if the conditions are met or not?
And you dare to defend them and call me "unprofessional/unethical" for exposing these fraudsters?
Come on, have some decency, or do you work for them? smiley
Please do not mislead people, this EVISA system is anomalous, it is a bad joke. It is better to be avoided all the time.
The employees that revise these applications are either incompetent or plain bad-intentioned.
I have heard that for some countries there is no tax, well in that case it may be worth applying, but only if one has many months before the actual trip, and do not put any hope in their fairness. Anyway they approve/reject them on totally arbitrary basis., just like at the lottery. So, if one wants to test their luck, they can apply.
For the ones that are required to pay the visa fee, pay with Wise and if the rejection is absurd, first contact DHA, and then file for a chargeback with Wise. My chargeback case was approved in under a day, but of course i sent them a 45 page pdf proving that i met all the conditions, they absurdly rejected and even had an unprofessional attitude.

As for me, i clearly said i do not apply again ever to this stupid eVisa system. I have two options: either apply at the nearest consulate, or just cancel the tickets. IT seems luck is on my side, because i have received recently a schedule change from the airline and i can get a full refund. Maybe that is the best idea. And i will choose another country that respects its visitors. These idiots from SA behave like they do the visitors a favor by granting them a VISA. When the visitors just come to spend their money in that failed country with a rate of criminality among the highest in the world, you have to "watch your back" every moment...Isn't it ridiculous? A joke of a country where people live in average just 50 years...
Anyway, i just wanted to visit Cape Town for only 7 days, and in the winter...it was not even the best time, so i can simply cancel the tickets and go to beautiful Namibia instead, a country that is much more safe and you are not treated like a piece of dirt from the street by the retarded coruupt authorities like in SA. And visa is on arrival.
Well, i do not want to get too long, but, beware, these guys from eVisa departement are totally unprofessional, do not apply there for eVisa, just go to consulate or VFS.

Please I need an assistance regarding my Visa application. I am yet to understand the whole process even after I have gone through the info here.. could you be of assistance in this regards:

I proposed going for. 4weeks research visit to South Africa. I have checked the VFS platform to book appointment. On the day of appointments will I have to go to the preferred VFS center to submit or I could submit all my documents online? Thank you as I anticipate your response.
