I'm glad you're using a brand of charge Controller that's much better than the Plenty nonesense wey full market.

hopefully, you're very much aware You would require a charge Controller of higher capacity.

Oga bassdow.... Much appreciate by giving out your time to analyse duely.... Much grateful.

As for the former set up, was thinking of margin it to the new one.... Meaning two different solar pv array with 2 different charge controller in connection to one battery set up

Question: 3. Can I still use the former set up alongside, the panels and the cc excluding the battery and inverter.

Answer: NO. Whenever you mix Solar Panels of different Capacities, the Solar Panel of higher Capacities, comes down to level of the Lowest Solar Panel's capacity on the string hence 200w + 100w in series would give you 100w.

yea you could start considering the VOCs but those are hacky tactics better left to those who really knows what they're doing. Even then sef, there must be looses

I wish say this thing na transformer based.
Do you mean all their inverters aren't transformer based ?

He is doing 6p based on the PV Voltage on the screen... It shouldn't even get hot as there is not much conversion...
3s2p/2s3p maybe hit or miss.. he can try his luck...

We may not be sure it is 6p, the controller behaves that way sometimes

@bassdow has a point about using aluminium cables. But the disadvantage is that those cables easily break when you want to dress them(you go dey Do vigilantes work.

Aside that, those cable coating are prone to wear because of temperature and the environment it's been used.
It's not a good idea for aluminium or zinc roofing.

In summary, don't take my opinion for it. Na work I learn, what do I really know grin grin grin

Usually leftover wires, wires removed from site after a decommissioning, and lastly wires stolen from site. There is secondhand wires often with firsthand wahala.

Are the 300watts panel still available and can j see pictures? Location also...

Went to pick up two units for someone and was able to get pictures. These are usually relabelled and sold as 400w or 450w units to unsuspecting buyers.

Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Trippledots(m): 12:13pm On Mar 02
300w panels Clearance sales

12pcs of ~300w for clearance sales @86k each!!

Reason for sale
Buyer begged a friend in alaba to help him get panels and other solar devices.

Later buyer got referred to me by a colleague for installation.

Buyer got the shocker of his life when I analysed the panels and told him they were relabelled to 400w. 😳

Now buyer wants to go for 550w panels and needs to dispose these off at a great discount. Panels were bought at the rate of 110k

Location is ojodu Berger, but can be sent to any part of Nigeria.

URGENT SALES!!

At 11am my battery is already full or at 97% with about 300w load connected to it.

icjunior:
Please who knows how to use this timer socket?
I'd like to be able to set it to come on when the sun comes up,say 11am and go off 3pm everyday.
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Ferdiwar: 12:22pm On Mar 02
I don't think most of the rechargeable fans have good chargers built in them which is why the batteries fail often.

Since you are using solar, I will suggest you forget about replacing the battery and run the fans like that. That's how I've been running mine since I went solar.

jikaseo:
Yea, I've got 3 batteries at 3 different occasions and they all didn't even last one week. They sell fake and I'm tired of wasting money.

That's hardly an issue. Worse case scenerio, you place something on top to cover it BUT I have never done such becase the coating is more than enough

I'm looking to get a solar system on a budget because my aim is to have light to work on my laptop and fan throughout the day and last till at least 12 midnight.

I need advice on solar panels(I'm looking to get 2), price of battery that will last that long, inverter.

My budget is 250k. It's just to power my laptop for my work throughout the day.. no tv, fridge.

Thank you .

30ah charge controller: 20,000

Sachet INVETER: 35k - 40k

Solar panel: 50k X 2 = 100k

100ah Battery: 120k to 140k (but I can offer you 2months used 100ah for a very lesser price)

DC cable (depending on the distance from your panel to charge controller to the battery)

Note: Above calculation is more than 250k if you buy everything brand new but if you can go for tokunbo panel, and the 2months used battery I have, then you will not spend entire 250k and you will enjoy your system. If you choose brand new panel, brand new charge controller, brand new inverter, but used battery, you will spend entire 250k finish. You can always upgrade your system

Battery is the main determinant of how long your system last after charging as long as you don't overload the system
