A friend of my was suggesting that he doesn't know if his father carries a bad energy that usually affects him financially and otherwise when ever he come so close to him for for a period of time , I had to rubuke for thinking of such but I went on to have a rethink. Is it possible that one can have a father whos bad energy can affect his children's growth

your behavior and/or father's bad energy (as a child) will affect your possible future and outcome in life. but if you are already an adult, your behavior is controlled by you character, not your father's energy (who is now irrelevant to who you became as an adult)... so your finances cannot be affected by that. your finances are controlled by your adult traits/character.
