What exactly happened to the beautiful, attractive and popular tourist attraction known as Tinapa Resort Calabar should be a question every well meaning lover of tourism especially in Nigeria should be worried about.

I made a visit February , 2024 to this once beautiful centre of attraction that use to be a hub of great and captivating activities in the city of Calabar and it was clearly an eye sore, save for the beautiful and lush green environment and nature left to be admired, there was nothing else out of the ordinary to make it really worth your stay.

As long as the present crop of politicians are going to Abuja every month to collect FAAC, most of them will never put on there thinking cap

Tinapa was killed by YORUBA.

Immediately Tinapa DIED, they started the LEKKI FREE TRADE ZONE.

Now, the zone in Lekki is dead also, because the planning and implementation was hurriedly conceived by useless and envious people.

Same people that used Propaganda to kill development in the SS will soon tell you that IGBOs killed Tinapa.

Anybody from SS that believes YORUBA Propaganda against IGBOs is a fool.

Tinapa will resurrect under a sovereign nation.

The Federal Government denied Tinapa a Free Trade Zone. That's classic abandonment. But Goodluck Jonathan no try for them at all.

Imagine how much could have been generated from this resorted if it’s well managed and marketed to both home and abroad audience

We clearly lack maintenance culture, and it’s very sad

Nothing happened, just a project done without business environment study

Nigerians are too poor for such project, the percentage of Nigerians that can patronize such business are too small and widely spread to make such business a success

Is like building a 5 star hotel in say Osun or ebonyi or sokoto village and asking what killed it

Nigerians like shinny projects and don't care about their viability

Cocoa house, Buhari rail lines, Lagos blue and red lines, most state airports... Same rubbish Otti wants to build in Abia

Nigerians need to go and watch 2019 Osibanjo vs Peter obi debate again... That was were obi won me over

You don't develop by building infrastructure, malls, rail system etc

You develop by investing in your people access to credit, building basic needed infrastructure like few roads, hospitals and schools

Once the population is rich enough infrastructure would naturally come up

If Nigerians GDP per capita was $15k n above tinapa won't fail, in fact we would have 50 more

Building Infrastructures does not necessarily mean building malls and rails, yet they are still necessary for a crawling economy like ours in Nigeria. Ignoring physical infrastructural development can also pose its own danger in the society too.
What you should have said is that a fair percentage of our resources should be devoted to human capita development at a little margin with infrastructural development.
A man that is hungry also needs access to quality health care but he needs food first.
Now this is what we called "BALANCED ECONOMY GROWTH"

Construction of Lekki free trade zone was started in 2002.

Tinapa resort start of construction was signed on January 14, 2005.

You are an extremely bad liar.

When he was Anambra governor, he increased school fees and to defend himself, he said the statement below. Let's not even talk about doctors, healthcare & workers that were on strike for 13 months in Anambra, his deportation on non Anambra Igbos, Teachers going on strike, while he buys around 200 Ford vehicles from coscharis for Anambra kings, judges (to buy elections), and politicians. You can only deceive the gullible indomie generation kids.

Good observation.
Economic development has to be organic to be sustainable.
The biggest danger to the economic growth of a nation is wiping out the middle class.

This your thought is very ridiculous. Do you know the nos of Nigerians tourists travelling to Dubai daily aside from USA, Europe and Asia. So a film village won't be useful too.
You saying Nigerian should be rich before fixing infrastructure is very absurd.
May people like you never get to leadership with this your philosophy
