I think this coastal road was supposed to be a railway line based on the master plan. Why just a raod?
How does the nation tends to transport heavy load and containers across the country under a tangible network?

Well, it's taken well over 20 years and the road still isnt 100%... If even simple things are impossible in Nigeria, you cant blame Nigerians for being pessimistic about complex things.

If concrete is being used then that might just explain the increase in cost of cement. I can't imagine a construction company going for hundreds of cement trucks suddenly and prices remaining stable when supply is inelastic.

This is a welcome development, these roads will open up new areas and connect more states and villages but what about existing roads in horrible states?? The road leading from before Ajaokuta to Oturkpa to Enugu is in horrible state. Some portion of the Lagos Ibadan is still there. These bad roads are now a hotspot for criminals and are what's aiding Kidnappings on the roads
Which portion in Lagos Ibadan?

Mathematics Assignment.

Lagos ibadan expressway 120km ; 11 years and still not completed.

Lagos Calabar road 700km ; How many years E go be ?
Lagos-Ibadan road was handled by FERMA and you know that if Nigeria handle a project, it takes eternity to finish it.

Let's hope it's give to a good contractor.

Modified! Benin to Ore doesn't require much work likewise Ore to Sagamu except few places.

Why is it called 'Coastal Road' when it is not running near the coast except at Lagos?

This is another conduit pipe they want to use and Syphon more money.
Lagos-lbadan express way is yet to be completed despite allocating fund each year.
My people are too quick to celebrate phantom project that will not see the light of the day.

This project is not clear. The east west road during the Jonathan's era is still valid in same corridor, so what will they do? Construct another or what? Iyam not getting it. Why not use this money to rehabilitate critical roads like PH Aba road, instead of a new 700km highway. Smh

If you buy land in Warri now, you will cash out big time in the next few years.

Same as Yenagoa, Sapele, Aba, and all those cities that will have this expressway passing through them. cool

Hotel business will boom in those places as well. cool
The road won't pass through any of the places you list up there. The road is going to be close to the atlantic ocean.

It's so funny you mentioned aba. the road won't pass through the south east at all.

From lagos to ogun, ogun to ondo, ondo to delta, delta to bayelsa, bayelsa to rivers, rivers to akwa ibom and from akwa ibom to cross river.

Funding, 25 years?... We cant fund the dualisation and resurfacing of an already existing road even after 25 years of trying, yet we want to go ahead and build a new 700km road from scratch on swampy terrain?

When last did you even pass through the east west road you're complaining about gan sef? The east west road is more than 85% completed.

Makes it even worse. That's a complete waste of resources in a time of scarce resources. There's the Oron to Eket to Eleme to Bayelsa to warri to Benin to ore to Shagamu(with detours to Epe-Lekki) to Lagos road already. Of what significance is it, if it's done close to the ocean?

"More than 85% completed," same story since the last 10-15 years no be so?

N1 trillion released or N1 trillion approved? You know there's a clear difference right?

Let's assume N1trillion was actually even released (though we all know its impossible), given the cost of such projects in Nigeria, that amount would barely scratch the surface; it cant even complete the section from Lagos to Ondo.

What about using a portion of that trillion to complete the east-west road?... PH-Aba which shouldn't take more than 20mins literally takes over 2 hours cos of few bad portions which have been under construction by every single admin. A microscopic fraction of that N1 trillion can fix these and lots lots more. But anyway, who doesn't know that the coastal road project is just another white elephant avenue to loot money?

The one trillion is for the first phase, it will start from Lagos and end at the boundary between ogun and ondo state.

You can't expect Tinubu to rehabilitate all the bad roads in less than a year. The roads he has started rehabilitating are all under construction. If you know of any that Umahi started but has stop work, list them out here.

Even in the FCT, road construction is going on.

so all the roads that has been bad for years should all be repaired by Tinubu in less than a year? Abeg make una dey wail with sense.

This is a coastal road, no one will be forced to use it when it's completed. It will even be tolled sef.
