At a point the game wan come dey give me Sporting vibes from last season na why I say I hate Portuguese teams. Ironically na right around the same time of the year..

The match was tough. Far from what I was expecting. Porto came to win by all way whether crook or straight means. I am so glad we came out victorious. I could not watch the shootout. This win will be a confidence booster for the boys.

That was a very critical save! I think Porto came into the 2nd half, especially during extra time trying long range shots but our defense, especially Gabu got the memo. They closed down quickly and blocked or deflected a lot of those long range attempts.

That was why I told Mostob we need to approach the game with maturity and composure.

Obviously this was a new level of test for the guys, and they needed to remain focused and resilient.

And I’m glad they did. Also they did not let emotions cloud their judgement and make them relaxed.

I’m pretty sure, subsequent games this season or next will be better for us. Because, then both Arteta and the team would have gained experience.

Thumbs up to the boys, they tried, even though I no want make Zinchenko and Nketiah come in, because those ones are not mentally tough, them go put the rest squad under pressure. Although, I get why they had to come on because the other guys were exhausted.

Also, I need to appreciate Odegaard and Rice. Both of them demonstrated so much leadership on the pitch today.

Why didn’t we use more subs? I mean we had options for fresher legs to come in.. They made 5 and we made 3. That was how they could maintain their stamina

He didn't want to remove Pk specialists for amateurs even of they're fresh legs. That's why Saka and Rice remained in particular.
