These are the things that make big difference on nights like this.

I was expecting a Pepe masterclass as i learnt Nelli no ready. You can't play at Madrid for a decade and these kind of nights don't seem normal to you. It is too special to some (like us) while to others, it is home, normal, routine. E sure me say if na Marcelo or Alves, same outcome. Hopefully, we get our defenders to that stage in years to come


Overall, it's 14years since we last got here. Let's acknowledge that we are UCL babies irrespective of whatever is happening in our league. To me, Porto tactics worked except the goal scoring aspect.


You see those spaces we use to pass? They blocked it each in the zone of nearest red shirt. That left us to play a game we're not used to-aerial passes. Of which Kai and Rice are the best at. The rest are not.

Did we also stop their tactics? We did but slipped severally. That gave them ginger. Looked like they didn't plan pk sha😂

I am thankful we pushed it to PK because to your point, in such situations, you need your best kickers.

Also, our kickers showed immense mental strength and fortitude to put away their kicks despite playing all 120 minutes. They easily could have suffered heavy/ dead legs by the time PK arrived.

If Porto scored in the 2nd or extra time then we would have needed fresh legs to even give us a chance of extending to PK.

This match was highly physical the most in the history of UCL at one point I wasn't happy with the ref but kudos to him if not maybe only 5 players each will finish the game

I was so happy when it was heading to PKs knowing that Raya had good PK abilities. The tactics which our players used for the Pk(long seconds of delay before striking the ball) was really really effective. It totally disbalances the GK and his thoughts on where the ball was to be actually played if it was rushed. Also the four PK takers were the best takers I can actually think of in this team (bar Trossard and Jorginho who were already out). Kudos to the selections

Porto really deserve the applause. They were really good mehhn. If this match was played 10 times, I doubt the scorelines would exceed more than 1-0s. Skills, discipline, aggressiveness they have it. And boy, who's that Wendell?. Old man with a young body. That guy no allow Saka breathe for one second.

That assist from Odegaard is filthy. The move in which he evaded his marker and the pass to perfection to beat the players, was all sublime. Geez!!
The ice cool Trossard. Infact, in that situation, it's him I'm 97% that'll convert that all important chance in our team. That goal was really pitch-perfect. If that's the only reason why Martinelli was unfortunately injured, I'll take it with full chest .
