After spending all this money, it will still look like a low budget movie, as if it was produced by a100 level theater arts student. |

EmmyMaestro:Movie production is very challenging. A silly American movie like Ace Ventura that came out in 1994, costs $15,000,000 (fifteen million USD) as of 1994, say $ = N100.. It's still N1,500,000,000 (1.5 Billion Naira). And this is for a silly LOW BUDGET American film. Which films have we ever spent more than 5k with 2 plastic chairs to produce in Nigeria? How won't it look like 100level student project.

They should stop making low-budget films and start partnering with major platforms like Netflix, cinemas, etc. If someone like Uchenna Mbunabo shares your movie on his YouTube channel that has 1.2 million subscribers, I don't see how you won't recover your money because YouTube pays them in USD. |

Make Nollywood relax small. There are already too many movies in the market. |

Cmanforall:Lie lie! Content creators can never make more money than movie producers. Has Macaroni ever made one billion naira from making skits? The problem of these low-budget producers that complain about actors charging one million is that they don't see movies like serious business. They do it just for daily bread. If you spend like 50 - 100 million for a top-notch film, put it out there in cinemas or Netflix, there's no way you won't recover your money. Those people need to up their game and understand that Nigerian movies have grown beyond that nonsense they always do in Asaba. If you want to make quality films, you must be ready to do thorough research, delve into technicalities, reveal all the details, have great movie quality, use the facilities in your country and make viewers feel they got the value for their money. Nollywood films have grown past mother-in-law fighting daughter-in-law or old people going to native doctors to get charms to harm people. Those stories have been totally exhausted and people want to see something new like Eagles Wing, Tribe of Judah, etc. |

jattopeter:The problem of people like you is that you use your wayward lifestyle as the yardstick for gauging everyone. Out there, there are a lot of virgins who have decided to keep their bodies until they settle down. If you haven't been meeting them, you need to change the circle of friends. Yes, I personally met and confirmed a few. |

arrant nonsense from criminal like enterprise.... unless dealing with overseas buyers etc, why would the value of Naira impact the salary of actors and/or making of a movie?! if someone was charging a set salary for acting/production etc last yr, then why should they now ask for more? the naira in Nigeria is the same whether it depreciates vs the dollar or not. if you claim that these people should raise their prices because the Naira vs dollar is higher then you guys are not making any sense, whats next? a lawyer should raise their price? a doctor should raise their price? a mechanic should raise their prices etc. better yet, tell us what specific item prices has gone up in film production IN NIGERIA (apart from fuel) for you to believe that today's actors should charge more money? |
