No fewer than 4,000 residents, including petty traders, sand miners and other business owners around the River Niger area in the commercial city of Onitsha in Anambra State have been left without shelter and shops where to lay their heads or do their businesses, as the state government has demolished their houses and shops.https://punchng.com/4000-traders-others-displaced-as-anambra-demolishes-2000-shops/

According to Obiora, " it is vindictive and targeted at us.......". Perhaps,.Obiora borrowed the catch phrase from his people in Lagos. Even in Onitsha, they are still being targeted. |

Where in particular are the demolished shops located? The thing that gets me with all this demolitions nationwide is, some of those buildings one way or the other were approved by the government. Why can't every state develop a master plan that is not drawn out to antagonize political opponent or to protect the selfish interests of the elite and the ruling class. One administration will come to power, have a plan and approveconstruction of buildings etc.. the next administration will come to power start.. knocking down buildings. Sometimes the same administration that approved areas to build will turn around and demolish those buildings. Very sad situation indeed! |
