They are importers basically, the money they pay to clear their goods goes to the FG so aside from market tax which goes to the Local governments wetin them dey contribute to IGR.

State viability is not based on land mass like empty deserts and savanna, but by people, yes human beings! Compare Rhodes Island with Montana and you will understand why human beings determine size of states all over the world except Nigeria.

You are correct...remove Ogun, Ekiti, and Lagos, SW IGR is still greater than the whole SE IGR. The whole SE should normally be maybe one or two state since they are unproductive and rely mostly on allocations from Federal Government.

Can't you discern that he's not talking about Lagos state, he said that some states created in the military era were created to please some people. Some states cannot survive without federal allocation (EKITI), some states have the resources but still living in poverty (BAYELSA). These two states I've mentioned were created in 1996 and are a few out so many other states especially in the north.
