They are talking about after the killing of the 16 soldiers. The soldiers came to the community for a meeting, gathered the people, and trouble started when they wanted to arrest the community leaders but the people resisted them.

The narration maybe true. I have seen this happened before in Gbeji community of Benue state when similar incident of killing soldiers during a communal clash. The soldiers came in the guise of peace meeting and gathered the people, without warning they opened fire and killed many.

This account is not straightforward. I perceived false allegation from the people of the said community....

I doubt the verity of the story. How would soldiers just open fire unprovoked? They were on peace mission right? Were they attacked by the two communities simultaneously? Why didn't they kill people in the other community?

My brother, perhaps the security agents applied force, owing to the villagers resistance to allow them take their chiefs for further questioning and or into custody after the peace meeting. But if the force applied actually resulted in deaths as claimed by the villagers, gory pictures from the incident would have flooded the internet hours before the military personnels went for reprisal attacks. Except the villagers have loads of evidence to buttress their claims, they don't have a case against the military.
I'm not in any way advocating for retaliatory attacks on innocent and harmless civilians of Okuama community
