It really depends on how you raise and feed them...I actually knew someone who had a piglet as a pet.....like a puppy pet (not for eventual consumption).

But a lot also has to do with the way it gets processed with the extra unwanted fat sucked out.

Ever eaten a hot dog, some bacon bits, the McRibs or even a German Schnitzel? There were also some roasted and seasoned grilled pork I thought was initially beef but turned out to be tender pork brisket.

On a serious note though.,..check the stats regarding Pork import in countries like Japan, China, or even Thailand. If your country was serious about strategic agro exports to large consumer countries like those....they could prioritize meeting strict international standards and help local producers earn more from the international markets.
