helinues: Because the CBN under Cardoso cleared the FX backlog he created, it becomes an achievement, a development news, a blueprint achievement no president has ever done. Six months ago, the then Acting Governor of CBN, Folashodun Shonubi, told us that the CBN was going to clear a $10 billion FX backlog in two weeks. Did you describe it as development news? 1 Like

Yankee101:no we need to maintain a low ratio if our currency is to become strong......what do you want to be importing that you need hundreds of billions of dollars for? Our love for dollar is what started part of our economic issues today......though undoubtedly it will grow in the next few years I just want strict control on its use so we don't find ourselves in another 1800 to 1 dollar fiasco..... 1 Like 1 Share |

Nigeria is a net importer Your theory won’t work International trade works on short term debt, you get a quote, buy, get an invoice and settle People trust you to give you that short term credit based on your reserves. Low reserves means low trust and you’ll have to pay cash upfront for everything. You lose money that way leokid866: |

Keegan: God will judge Cardoso too for crashing our naira in less than six months. The naira lost over 100% of its value in six months, something never witnessed in the history of this country. |
