Trying to paint picture of Nigerians suffering abroad is what I don't find relatable I must admit. If you claim, food and rent gulp all their earnings, how come quite a lot of them still send money home to relatives and also finance some project.

I don't listen to people like the person you quoted. Such person usually have parents or relatives in politics and they are happily chopping Nigerian money.
Ask him if every Nigerian has connection to government contracts? So he expects someone to die of hunger just because japa is expensive according to him?
The first lady and her son are telling Nigerians to manage and bear with them. But they are all enjoying life.

You have nothing to say
Israel Adesanya is not more Successful than Kanu Nwankwo
Even if he is how is that relevant here is that the topic
You argue like a child

Hakeem Olajuwon did not leave as a child
Guy you are just shifting and talking nonsense
No two people in this life have the same story
You were talking about difference between leaving for job and education
I showed several examples and you keep shifting

Once again is Victor Osimhen not working?
He left Nigeria for work
There are Nigerian entrepreneurs that did not have money living outside Nigeria
There are politicians and so on so just give up that super story

You are contradicting yourself
On the one hand you say Tinubu made a mistake
On the other you say there is a difference between going abroad for education and for work
What mistake did Tinubu make?

Thinking he can make it abroad, was his mistake.

Can you tell us the menial Jobs Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Femi Adeshina, Chimamanda Adichie, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, Nnamdi Azikiwe, Philip Asiodu, Philip Emegwali did to become what they became?? In the USA, Nigerians are ranked amongst one of the most educated immigrants breaking bounds! In the UK Nigeria has a host of professionals doing great. Check am na, over 50% of our homegrown health workers are doing better there than when they were here. Moreover, one of the best law chambers in that country belongs to a Nigerian! People who the law chased back home with fake certificates and fake letters of appointment, can only deceive villagers that have never left their only link to civilization with this crap! Fact is there are entry level jobs for new immigrants, but the bulk of Nigerians don’t remain at that point forever! There is dignity of labor for you, even when ure working with a borrowed shola-shola, more than in your own country! In short, landlord just travel & see. cool

The food you eat for $50 dollars in Nigeria will cost you atl east $500 dollars in America.
So even though you will earn $1500, Food and rent will finish it, you will need another job to pay tax and other bills.
if you work 2 jobs....your health will decline over time.
what percentage of Nigerians are healthy?

I will tell you how.
They live like paupers here, some people in texas cannot even use the AC when its hot.
Most work overnight jobs, some work health-tolling multiple jobs
What is the benefit of making more money while running at twice the speed of regular people to your grave ?

They work hard and at the end of it,there is result and evidence to show that they really worked hard, but here in Nigeria some people work harder but no evidence, and most still struggle to afford their basic needs. If it is easy to have multiple jobs here in Nigeria, alot of NIGERIANS will sacrifice their leisure hours to make more money but it's not.It is not easy anywhere in the world,so just choose the HARD that is favourable.

True. Everybody in Naija expects a job.
Entrepreneurs are more needed in Naija than employees

I get your point though.

When he realized his mistake, he ran back to Nigeria.
There is nothing abroad. Na packaged slavery.

He realized his mistakes indeed and still sent his children there to study, with records of at least one of his daughters still living an exotic lifestyle there. Don't allow poverty of the mind make you justify statements of privileged individuals who don't even know you exist. It's HARD abroad,it's equally HARD here as well. When it comes to settling for one HARD, logically you'll settle for one where you have access to quality and state of the art infrastructure, great citadel of learning, good security and social benefit. This should tell you why people are leaving in droves on a daily basis.
well summarized and all captivating.
Some guys in UK that doesn't lavish dr cash anyhow are still able to save like 1.5M monthly despite the fact they are care worker or doing assistance job.Atleast most of them are still able to embark on a project when they come back home.someone that can save up to 1.5M naira after conversion will be able to save atleast say 15M in a year.that is a cool cash to embark on a good project in Nigeria.Na only political class and very few individuals can make same amount on a monthly basis here in Nigeria.
Me as a kogite will find it difficult to get a state job where am resident in the core North and exactly same in the south.I see myself as a foreigner in my own country just because am not in my state.this is even worst than racism.

You’re wasting your own time. Some of us who are truly exposed and up to speed with the entire diasporan experience know there is a lot of factual truth in what you say.

Yet you waste your time because Nigerians, in the entire world, are the people most averse to the truth when it is not what they want to hear.

Then the insults and ad hominem attack will start simply because they cannot counter your points which run contrary to what they wish to believe.

Bro, way I see it, let them all ‘japa’. Simply means more opportunities for Chinese, Lebanese, Vietnamese, Indians etal and the few Nigerians able to think outside the box to look at issue critically and pragmatically ensuring they are winners able to see and take advantage of opportunities most are blind to.

I even joke with friends that while Nigerians go abroad to slave , in search of El Dorado, foreigners who know how to work smarter, and not harder, are trooping into Nigeria to take advantage of almost limitless opportunities to the extent they will soon start becoming our legislators and leaders in the next twenty years.

We’ve had slavery in the past and now Nigerians are selling themselves into modern day economic slavery that will see us supply labor to the west while foreigners arrive in Africa to claim more stake by becoming our business/trading supremos and perhaps even political/administrative leaders.

Go and google the rent in San francisco.

Its better for me to live under Ojuelegba bridge than work as a bartender in San francisco.
You cannot even afford to rent a couch to sleep on at night with the salary of a bartender at META or twitter.

You think they became trillion dollar companies by dashing people money or by exploiting naive people ?

U are saying nonsense .... california is like Abuja ...its a very expensive city... the good thing about USA is that all states are well developed, unlike Nigeria , they don't have insecurity issues unlike Nigeria , they don't have religious division unlike Nigeria ... a fool talked about car as part of the money u spend as a menial job worker ... can someone that even earns 150k ( as a graduate) afford the cheapest car ??

Someone that earns 1500 pounds a month can save 300 pounds monthly if the person is determined and notva spendthrift... 300 pounds is about 500k .... even some managers in some companies don't earn that in this country

So take u paid bu11sh1t with ur elewure madam pastor advice and shove it down ur a55

So what makes you feel those category of vulnerable people don't deserve to be cared for by society and people will always be employed to do that job whether or not Africans were available for it. What also makes you feel all Nigerians abroad are in such jobs? You must be irrational to denigrate jobs you can't create...one thing that is indisputable is that every migrant will always step up their job roles to what they will eventually get fulfillment in, and their worth will always be way better than the worthless status of foolish individuals who criticize online but are of zero relevance to themselves and society in a shit hole nation.

Truckload of trash
Since you're seeing limitless opportunities in Nigeria and have ability to think outside the box, why don't you take them and create big enterprises instead of running audio.
Big pharma, fmcg, service companies have left Nigeria over the past 8 years. Can you show us the one you have built to replace them with your smartness?
You claim Nigerians are selling themselves until economic slavery. Is the country itself not in economic slavery? What is the percentage of foreigners in Nigeria compared to Nigerians abroad?
You're just an empty propagandist.

Typical Nigerian. A creature driven by emotions and rigid preconceived notions plus prejudices. Do you know me to be able to definitively say what I doing or not doing in Nigeria?

Bro, let us leave it there because self-made and successful folks , or critical thinkers who have the capacity to deliver solutions, know that the first individuals to discount as worthless losers are those who make prejudiced judgement regarding things or people they know zilch about.

Those folks, like you, are clowns.

lol. Of course I am a “30k Zombie” only to a loser like you who assumes everyone you speak to online is in the wretched and pathetic state you are in.

It is called poor man’s mentality. Google it. Difficult to free yourself from it while you languish in poverty further compounded by the prison walls of a mind that thinks such is normal and all others are similarly shackled.
