If you listen to the Russian diplomat, it's US and it's follow-follow UK that technically blocked the resolution because they failed to adopt the resolution soon enough when others voted in favour of immediate ceasefire to enable the council mediate to stop further hostilities.

According to Russia, it's hypocritical that US is requesting for adoption of ceasefire after it delayed and gave enough time to Isreal " to completely level and wipe out Gaza from the surface of the earth and over 30,000 Palestinians killed by Israel, three-quarters of which are defenceless babies, children and women ".

So there's no point for any UN Security council resolution as there is no Gaza more to save. China diplomat didn't even bother to say anything, it was really a humbling experience for the USA and UK. Russia really humbled the USA. And it's good to note that the US diplomat agreed that it will continue to engage.

Honestly, I put the bulk of the blame on USA in respect of the war in Gaza. It is sad that Israel was encouraged to do this much damage and destruction of life of Palestinians while USA was supporting them but now that they see the entire world would not tolerate their excesses anymore, they suddenly switched on their humane personality.

Shame on America, shame on Biden.

Read the Oslo accords and decide if you would accept such resolution if you were a Palestinian. Over 31k people dead already, and the US is seeking resolution based on release of the leverage the Palestinians have which are the hostages. I dont see any reason for Hamas to start the war if they accept such resolution.
It would have made more sense if Gaza release Israelite hostages, and vise versa. A 2 independent state resolution giving Palestinians complete autonomy including those in the West Banks.
Afterall, Israel took the land from the initial inhabitants, they should share.

The bible mentions the Israelites and even the Koran makes mention of the children of Is real over a hundred times but never on one place did it mention the Palestinians. A two state solution would have been the best thing but the Arabs led them astray and the way it has gone now the oppressor would do everything within it's powers to fight against that knowing too well that these people would now be more interested in annihilating them if they have the opportunity.
