The Nakba is an Arabic word meaning Catastrophe. The term is in reference to the 1948 ethnic cleansing that took place where more than 700,000+ Palestinian Arabs were forcefully expelled or out of fear fled from their homes. #Nakba70 https:///biI4aUas3K

Stupidity is when you allow your personal house to be fully razed by fire while you are busy putting off the fire in your friend's house. Fulani herdsmen are killing your fellow Nigerians without you creating any thread to condemn or show pity to those been killed but you are here talking about people in Palestine as if they are more important than your fellow Nigerians. 7 Likes |

UAE123:Biko where did he state that Palestinians are more important than Nigerians? FYI the Fulani menace began only recently, whereas what is happening in Palestine has been taking place over decades. And do you intend to give him an AK 47 to go fight off the herdsmen? You yourself how many herdsmen have you fought? Since the herdsmen are busy raping, murdering and killing how many threads have you created to cry out over their atrocities? And by the way, i suppose the OP cannot sympathize with the Palestinians and at the same time be against the Fulani herdsmen, correct? Go and borrow some sense please. 2 Likes |

Firefire: To be honest i cannot understand how you think. On one side you have the Palestinians who are armed solely with stones, catapults and tires. On the other hand we have the Israelis who have their arsenal stocked to the brim with every modern weapon ever made. Now, the Palestinians are trying by non-violent means to reclaim what is theirs and for their trouble are being fired upon by live bullets and mercilessly gassed. All these have been condemned by Doctors Without Borders and Amnesty International and when a post is made on the topic you call the OP a potential terrorist. Like how? Is your brain fully functional? Yet tomorrow you will come on Nairaland and scream and hurl all sorts of insults on the Nigerian Army or police for doing the same thing. What is worng with you biko? 1 Like |

I am not surprised. Since you cannot refute my arguments one by one go on and mock them . Mock them all you like but it makes no difference to their being truthful 1 Like |

Bayajidda1: Lol. Your sense of reasoning is absurd. Why not take the time to refute my points one by one instead but of insulting me? That's cos you have no reasonable response to the truth in my statement. By the way, am a Christian actually. Check well and see that this Nairaland account was registered back when you were still in Nursery school |
Re: What NAKBA Day Means: The Day Israel Forced Palestinians From Their Home by GabrielYulaw(m): 8:02am On May 15, 2018 |
alBHAGDADI: Actually, what I care about is injustice and strife everywhere. Things like the present Fulani genocide, the current suicide bombing by an Indonesian family on a church, the oppression of the Nigerian populace by the Army, Police, FRSC and what have you, the xenophobic attacks in South Africa, the resurgent racism in the US all make me sad and furious. So, your statement makes no sense. |

vedaxcool: Time’s report of the battle for Haifa (May 3, 1948) was similar: “The mass evacuation, prompted partly by fear, partly by orders of Arab leaders, left the Arab quarter of Haifa a ghost city... By withdrawing Arab workers their leaders hoped to paralyze Haifa.” Benny Morris, the historian who documented instances where Palestinians were expelled, also found that Arab leaders encouraged their brethren to leave. Starting in December 1947, he said, “Arab officers ordered the complete evacuation of specific villages in certain areas, lest their inhabitants ‘treacherously’ acquiesce in Israeli rule or hamper Arab military deployments.” He concluded, “There can be no exaggerating the importance of these early Arab-initiated evacuations in the demoralization, and eventual exodus, of the remaining rural and urban populations” (Benny Morris, The Birth of the Palestinian Refugee Problem Revisited, MA: Cambridge University Press, 2004, p. 590.) The Arab National Committee in Jerusalem, following the March 8, 1948, instructions of the Arab Higher Committee, ordered women, children and the elderly in various parts of Jerusalem to leave their homes: “Any opposition to this order... is an obstacle to the holy war... and will hamper the operations of the fighters in these districts.” The Arab Higher Committee also ordered the evacuation of “several dozen villages, as well as the removal of dependents from dozens more” in April-July 1948. “The invading Arab armies also occasionally ordered whole villages to depart, so as not to be in their way” (Middle Eastern Studies, January 1986; See also Morris, pp. 263 & 590-592). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FuGqpFxogRg |
