What Is Happening In Lagos?: The Debauched City by LegallyBlunt(op): 2:37pm On Jul 17, 2023
Growing up in Lagos was more than a tad bit fun. It was surreal, even as the capital of the nation was moved to Abuja. It was beautiful as well, with a lot of focus on culture, togetherness, and thriving businesses. While these qualities remain, they've take up a more inglorious form.
We've got all sorts of evil going on. Let me list some here.
1. Constant land grabbing (yes, it applies)
2. Sex, sex, and more sex
3. Thievery (from the low to the elites)
4. Ritual killings
5. Ethnic beefs and bigotry

There's more. However, what sticks out most in this microwave generation is the DEBAUCHERY. Girls are going for far less these days. And boys are ever willing to pay, and have more than a handful of sex partners. Then there's the enhanced sugar daddy lifestyle. We now have teens who's eyes have 'tear.' Girls as little as 16 years now know the 'game.' Suddenly, they all want an iPhone, or the best apartments.
The guys are equally doing their bit. Fraud and fake schemes have allowed them live large, frequenting pubs, clubs, hotels, and the likes. There's life on the fast lane. The drugs have taken over in most quarters, and the stars lead the way, living recklessly and encouraging the youths to so same.
Lagos takes everything up a notch. It's Nigeria's very own 'sin city.'

In everything, let us remember this scripture.
Galatians 5:19-26
19The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. 22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. 25Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. 26Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.

Shallom.

This is very true. It seems you are intelligent, upright, and know lagos a lot. I'm currently writing a novel (trilogy) with lots of moral lessons. I think having a chat with you about some morality issues in Nigeria would help improve my novel. I'm willing to pay for your help and contribution. Could you reach out at criticalwatcher2 [at] gmail (dot) com. I'll be glad to get in touch.
