President Bola Ahmed Tinubu says the Federal Government will provide housing to each of the families of the fallen heroes anywhere they chose within the country.

The Federal Government also awarded the children of the fallen heroes full educational scholarships to University level including the ones still in the womb of their mothers.

FG also appeals to the Military Pensions Board that all their emoluments must be paid within 90days.

Let Cardoso exhaust his interventions first. Once it stabilises for a week or two somewhere, it will only go down from there

With the partial removal of subsidies, government is generating more revenue. That's what I want you to know.

Naira should calm down small, some of us have transfer to make

I wouldn't carry out any transaction if it were me. With the current prices of goods and services in Nigeria, naira is seriously overvalued.

I'm talking of the similarity between nigerien and nigerian. If one isn't patient enough to look at it or even know it.
We're not directly sharing borders with them but let's not also forget some of these guys with chadians are in this country working menial jobs or doing meisha or suya. Most of them pass through Niger.

This a no brainer na; Nobody goes into business to lose. It will take time for prices of goods to reduce if the Dollar remains stable

They are thieves. It's only in Nigeria that our retailers FOMO without reservation just to suit their narratives. They usually buy their highest quantity when the price is the highest. When the price reduces, it takes them ages to finish selling old stock.

Many of them increase the price of their old stock when current prices increases but fail to reduce the price of the same old stock when current prices reduces.

A perfect example are those fouani thieves selling electronics at Ikeja city mall.

We have too many middlemen scavenging for profits from a particular product in Nigeria. The death of small retail shops will mark the beginning of our economic renaissance.

A carton of indomitable noodles sold for 10,500 at its peak and retailers increased their prices to 300 per one. The company had to reduce the price to 8900 so that they can at least continue making sales or face either downsizing or completely shutting down.

Guess what? These retailers are still selling 300 per one while supermarkets are selling 240 per one. Without these supermarkets, the noodles company would most certainly leave business just like GSK and we would be left with an army of unemployed youths and reduced revenue for the government.

"You [President Bola Ahmed Tinubu] are a leader of particular character. You have the courage to do very difficult things, right at the beginning of your term.

"Something that many American leaders should look to; someone who believes so much in their people that they can make difficult decisions and know that their country is resilient and strong to endure so that it can emerge stronger on the other side."

They did this simply because they were at a risk of selling old stock and being unable to restock afterwards.

Let's say u sell an item for 500 naira and dollar just keeps jumping up every market day thereby increasing the cost of stock.

If u say because u still have old stock and decide to Continue to sell for 500 naira instead of 950 , u will end up not being able to restock and simply run out of business .

U may not really understand this thing except u are involved or have someone involved in buying and selling in this present day Nigeria.

A friend was still lamenting last weekend to me about how the whole fluctuating exchange rate has been consistently eroding his wife's trading capital in her business .

Fouani will not reduce their price except they exhaust their current stock. If they imported the electronics when dollar was 1,500, they won't automatically reduce the selling price cos dollar is now 1,300. U don't expect them to sell at a loss .

All these people dey do proper accounts o

When dollar rate crash, they will keep telling you they havent exhaust old stock as if they bought millions of stock with high rate of $$.

Dollar is going down yet price is increasing.

I think you missed my point. I am talking about those retailers who have old stock which they post say 500 per one and when current prices increased to 800, they increased the prices of their old stock to 800. Now while still selling their old stock, the price reduced to 700 and they still continue selling at 800.

That's the situation with Nigeria now.

Let's continue deceiving ourselves lol. Dollar can crash to 800/$1 and you'll see them still selling at outrageous prices with the usual excuse.

The only commodity that can experience this dollar fall for now should be edibles; and that is why na only Indomie be the example here.

Some items are not sold everyday; Electronics, cars, building materials, cement, etc. There is a large possibility that these items were bought at ridiculous dollar rates, and they haven't been cleared yet.

Which kind of business will still be selling old stock of as at 500 by now ? How can u be so sure they didn't restock all this while ? U are talking of retail items o.

Items like indomie , spaghetti and other provisions that malls and other retailers go to wholesale shops go restock within days ?

Mind u, the wholesaler lready bought them in large quantity while dollar was high and he certainly won't sell at a loss. So the retailer still buys at high price and will sell to final consumer at higher price.

I saw her post referencing supermarkets bringing down price of their indomie almost immediately after indomie reduce the ex-factory price . That's because those supermarkets get supplied by the producer or their major distributor right from source Na .
