Seems this air defence is on madmode. Shooting down its own aircraft is ridiculous.

I thought air defence can detect friendly aircrafts?

The only excuse Russia can come up with for this lie, is if they claim that the automated air defense system that was recently deployed is responsible for this, and that's if there's a bug in the system.

The IFF system has showed to be unreliable in actual combat, even in training, the u.s and Russia still ends up shooting down friendly aircrafts. This was the reason Russia came up with the idea of using robot to minimize human and machine error.

Nevertheless I still think Russia is lying.
Do anyone remember when Russia made claims that they shot down 3 of their aircrafts within a week only for them to discover that a patriot and IRIS-T ADS was moved closer to the Frontlines?
