You mean as tiny as Lagos state is compared to other states in Nigeria 🇳🇬 together with the huge population, about 66% of the land is still left fallowed? Omonile, we still have more work to do Imo State even though the second smallest state in the East in terms of landmass with quite a huge population made an impressive developmental impact Enugu that I think with its level of development and numbers of cities and towns in the state and how popular it is still has more than 90% of fallowed areas ? Well, the state has quite a fair landmass in size; largest in the East. As for the Northern region, the huge landmass amongst most states made any developmental impact a drop in the ocean ;, so make we cut them some slacks! 8 Likes |

SS states are disappointing. See Rivers for example, probably only Port Harcourt dey carry Rivers... See Delta state, probably only Asaba and Warri, and there are other towns that have potential like Sapele, Agbor, Aniocha Nort and South etc... What about Bayelsa?? What about Edo, only Benin Perhaps and Auchi... Choi 😂😂😂 3 Likes |

Just a fancy word for Population density. The smaller states will naturally be more compact. But by the time you do the math, you will see that the SW is the most urbanized zone in Nigeria by miles, with the largest total area of built up zones. You can see that all the states there are mostly the smaller states except Ogun state whose population has already surpassed 10 million by now, pushing it into the list. 17 Likes 1 Share |

This stats is actually not in favor of the SE, but as usual, they don't pay attention to the implications. The SE has the smallest landmass in Nigeria, 3 times smaller than the SW, but they've used up nearly everything and another fact is, their small land mass cannot contain their population. Now, since you've built up your meager plots, what do you have left for your future generations to build on? If you have 1 plot of land and I have 3 plots of land, who go build up their land first. Besides, building up means nothing, it's all about what you build and the quality and are they productive? You cannot say you built up and still remain the poorest region with the smallest re revenue generating capacity in Nigeria. Qualify is always better than quantity 19 Likes 5 Shares |

Urban slums and urban sprawls. Some combination of cities can fit into one state due to difference in land mass. Plus most importantly, built up area does not equate to development. Dhaka in Bangladesh is widely considered to be the most densely populated built-up urban area in the world; yet, it's not more developed than Brisbane in Australia. 1 Like |

idealogical: See this one displaying ignorance with confidence. If lagos the smallest state can contain 22 million people and there is still plenty empty land in epe, badges but you living in your own world thinks that all the south east states which are bigger than lagos cannot contain lgbos. To show that you are just a sit at home cat who has never left osohgbo, you claimed all the land in South East has been used up but all the land in lagos the smallest state has not been used up. From the same Statisense. SE is the smallest region in Nigeria, the SW is almost 3 times larger than the SE. SE is too small to contain its population, so they always leave their region. 4 Likes

Or the states with the smallest land masses Government situated buildings in some northern states like kaduna alone dwarf govt buildings in 3 states above combined (Air Force base, NDA 1, NDA New site, 1 Mech Division, etc) And have a bigger land mass. Compare per unit area to get the true measurements. Compare onions with onions |

Ogene001: Unfortunately, we still cannot see any production Obi created as the governor of Anambra, besides, Obi is the king of consumption in Nigeria, he imports all manner of rubbish to sell in his supermarket, and he killed a lot of local businesses with his container economy greed. Obi is a Billionaire and we still can't see the manufacturing businesses or production companies he started, he's all-mouth, advise him to stop repeating that nonsense until he starts creating manufacturing and production businesses in Nigeria or at least in the SE. Obi is the wrong example because he produces nothing, all he does is import rubbish that kills our local manufacturing businesses. 1 Like 1 Share |

My take away from this is that Imo State has now overtaken Anambra State noiselessly to become the 2nd most urbanized State in Nigeria. That is in addition to Imo leading in all aspects of education. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Just keep deceiving yourself bitter frustrated old man. Millions of imo indigenes live in Anambra but you can never see anyone from Anambra living in your useless backward worthless imo state. Anambra is clearly the most urbanized state in Nigeria aside Lagos Abagworo: 2 Likes 2 Shares |

idealogical: When the percentage is multiplied by the landmass, the data makes much more sense as analyzed by adamusulaiman on the thread below https://www.nairaland.com/8047078/statisense-digging-deeper-into-data Percentages are relative to a constant or variable. In this case, StatiSense published percentages, but using the percent relative to landmass. The data became more revealing. Results below: South East is 28,983km², 15.6% is 4,605km² I.e, only 4,605km ² of SE is built. South West is 78,505Km ², 11.65% is 9,280Km ², I.e only 9,280Km ² of SW is built, thats 102% more built than SE. South south is 85,315km ², 6.77% is 5,641km ²,I.e only 5,641km ² of SS is built, that’s 23% more built than SE. North central is 231,677Km ², 2.99% is 6,927Km ², I.e only 6,927km ² of NC is built, that’s 50% more built than SE. Northwest is 223,150km², 1.72% is 3,838km², I.e only 3,838km² of NW is built, that’s 17% less built than SE. Northeast is 289,421km², 0.85% is 2,460km², I.e only 2,460km² of NE is built, that’s 47% less built than SE. Therefore, Southwest, Northcentral & SouthSouth are far ahead of other regions. Ranking by total area abuilt in Nigeria's Geopolitical zones: 1. 9,280Km ² of SW is built 2. 6,927km ² of NC is built 3. 5,641km ² of SS is built 4. 4,605km ² of SE is built. 5. 3,838km² of NW is built 6. 2,460km² of NE is built Southeast, Northwest and Northeast need to buckle up 2 Likes 1 Share |
