Peter Obi, a presidential contender for the Labour Party in the 2023 elections, has responded to allegations that he is campaigning after visiting various states to help the needy, donate money, and commission projects. Donors in the states of Niger, Kano, Kebbi, and Sokoto received boreholes from Obi not long ago. The ex-governor of Anambra has been observed donating to a hospital and showing solidarity with Muslim believers during Ramadan. Peter Obi responded in a Parallel Facts-organized Twitter channel by saying, "I'm not campaigning, there is no election. I've been doing things like this before I got involved in politics." I used to say it, and people know it since I'm close to them. For instance, I've mentioned in the past that I went to Haiti with the president's approval after the earthquake there while I was governor. I went to a lot of trouble spots when I was living my private life. Even before I entered politics, I was able to provide my support to a great many causes. That's true. I remember when there was massive earthquake in Haiti. Obi was Governor then, he left everything he was doing, flew with his son and actor Bob-Manuel Udokwu, to Haiti to join the relief effort.
