Mobutu Sese Seko says hi

I didn't have much memories about him. The only thing I remember I read about him was that people usually rumored that those African prints he wore were bullet proof .

But I don't think he could've stolen as much as Abacha cos that their country no too get resources reach naija

I think a lot of Nigerians have this belief that every service that is being run by the government must be cheap.
Was their ever a time Nigerians enjoyemnet 24hrs electricty? What makes you think Nigerians cannot or don't want to high bill for 24hrs electricty?
If Ghanians, Togolese, Benin Republic and citizens of many other West African Countries can pay to enjoy 24hrs electricty, it is Nigerians that cannot or dont want to pay? Are the citizens of those Countries generally richer than Nigerians?

The Minister said: “This tariff review is in conformity with our policy thrust of maintaining a subsidized pricing regime in the short run or the short term with a transition plan to achieve a full cost reflective tariff for over a period of, let us say three years. I have mentioned it in a couple of media briefings that it is because of government sensitivity to the pains of our people that we will not make us migrate fully into a cost reflective tariff or to remove subsidy 100 percent in the power sector like it was done in oil and gas sector.”

“We are not ready to aggravate the sufferings any longer which is why we said it must be a journey rather than a destination and the journey starts from now on, that we should do a gradual migration from the subsidy regime to a full cost reflective regime and we must start with some customers.

“This is more like a pilot for us at the Ministry of Power and our agencies. It is like a proof of concept that those that have the infrastructure sufficient enough to deliver stable power of enjoying 20 hours of light to be the ones to get tariff add.”

“The government would have paid N2.9tr for 2024. This is more than 10 percent of the national budget. It will be insensitive on our part to compel the government to pay such subsidy when we have other competing issues the government needs to fund under pau its of funds we have.”

A lot of Nigerians are currently spending #100k plus a month on fuel for generators, but they cannot pay for 24hrs electricity.
I will buy #4k fuel this evening so i can run my Gen from 8pm till 6am in the morning due to this extreme hot weather. 5k fuel on Saturday and 5k on Sunday every week to serve us for at least 10hrs each day if light no dey at all, and that is me cutting cost ooh. My neighbour dey run him Gen from 6pm to 8am on week days and 24hrs on weekends, most times he doesn't even bother to off the Gen when light is restored. Na that kind person no go fit pay for 24hrs electricity, let Govt give us the 24hrs light fess and see whether we will pay or not.

Well we await the next line of action from Olumide and his party. It might be a mistake, it might not, but as it stands, the matter doesn't look like an offence in Nigeria anyway.

I'm not sure people will complain much if thete is 24hrs power supply.

You cant compare it to the money we burn on fuels.

STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE

PRESIDENT TINUBU APPOINTS CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER OF THE NIGERIAN CONSUMER CREDIT CORPORATION (CREDICORP)

In keeping with his dedicated efforts to ensure financial inclusion and economic prosperity for the majority of Nigerians, President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Engineer Uzoma Nwagba as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation (CREDICORP).

Engineer Nwagba, 36, holds a Master’s of Business Administration from the Harvard Business School and a first-class Bachelor’s of Engineering from Howard University, Washington DC.

Prior to his appointment, Engineer Nwagba served as Chief Operating Officer of the Bank of Industry, in charge of driving micro-credit and other financial interventions at the institution.

He had also served as Senior Investment Associate, specializing in financial services (banking, insurance, pensions) at the African Capital Alliance.

Engineer Nwagba was a Software Engineer at Microsoft, where he led multiple teams charged with building enterprise and mobile software for emerging markets (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, and Nigeria), before his transition to finance.

More information about this landmark initiative of President Bola Tinubu's administration can be found on:

credicorp.ng

The President expects the new Chief Executive Officer of this critical agency to bring to bear his wealth of experience in finance and technology, as well as his record in driving financial interventions across Nigeria in this new role in order to expand access to credit to all classes of Nigerian citizens, while promoting financial inclusion, and enhancing the quality of life of the Nigerian people as they access the tangibles of prosperity.

.....Ikeja Electric tried it last year but our people didn't respond. They threatened to disconnect any house without meter but our people still find their ways around the threats.

How come Nigerians didn't find their way around the NIN and BVN threats?

They know every single consumer under them. Why not take the Prepaid to each doorstep, install it, and deduct the price from the Units they buy?

Let them give each household prepaid meters, and let me see if they won't all turn to bakeries and primary schools in 6 months
