Never again will I support banning of food items into this country.

Let the local farmers compete with foreign standard to the benefit of the masses.

Enough of these unnecessary inflation, let there be access to food.
E remain cement.

When we told y'all then it was a bad move to protect farmers with bans una know gree , allow them to compete

I'm in support of any move to alleviate the suffering of the masses.
The FG should also open our land borders.
The indigenous farmers do not have the capacity to feed the whole nation. Fear of bandits and herdsmen won't even let them go to the farm again

Imagine Nigeria importing corn and food items instead of the federal government to flush out bandits in the bush. This government is not serious.
Even the farmers sacked by bandits will now have food to eat when imported.
It is a win/win for all Nigerians
Poultry farmers will smile again
Processed food Manufacturing companies will Have excess supply of cheap and quality raw materials that will reduce price

Hardworking citizens will enter market to buy food and will see rice and beans but will go for garri, you will work but you can't eat what you like.....

Not everyone loves rice as an ultimate food as you may think.

Surprisingly, if i earned N1M monthly, I will still choose Eba over rice. I will prefer to eat swallow 5 times to eating rice 1 time

This is what we want..... Healthy competition between foreign products and locally produced ones. Although, concession should be given to indigenous manufacturers, so that they can also compete favourably....

Normally we suppose to have foreign and local side by side then there might be a tax free on the local goods while there is tax on foreign one, so that people will see reason to patronize the local one too... imagine a bag of rice local around 30k while foreign is around 50k... because we can't compete in term of production with the foreign supply

I disagree with you sir, the presence of too many middle men and retailers is what is responsible for local food products to be expensive.

Import of food is better than toothpick

Buhari was trying to protect the interest of the north with food ban.
Northerners are farmers
Southerners are importers
He loves the north but hates the South

It is the turn of tinubu to love the south with an extension to the north

Cheaper food imported will also reduce poverty in the north

Let them export their farm produce while we import our own food.
Middlemen and retailers will affect both ways. Las las, Nigerians will pay less for imported food if you don't agree that Nigerian farmers are greedy

Nigerian farmers can't compete with current security in the country. They should look for other things to do.

I disagree with you, on this, Nigerian farmer are a big greedy one, when naira crach some of them forget that federal government subsidize some of their farm imput and the rest, most them begin to harvest and sell to foreigner who pay more and ship it out.
Some farmer transport it to neighboring country and re sell it to Nigerian trader on high price

What more information is needed to b seek? When the over hyped rice mill could not bring down the price of rice.
As we speak we hardly see the rice market and they can't even export sef.
I thought they wanted to feed the nation now they can't even feed Lagos state.

Pure water should also be imported to crash the price of locally produced Ones that are unimaginably expensive.
All those amassing wealth by impoverishing Nigerians should be dealt with by importation.
I support importation 100%

This has been what i have been preaching about since the days of Buhari. You dont ban food items you dont produce. Farmers misled Buhari with claims of self sufficiency in rice production just to enable them assess funding from the Federal Government. The mumu federal government of Buhari released hundreds of billions to the farmers in the name of boosting food production especially rice and wheat. What happened to the money? Farmers turned mega billionaires on the government funding without any corresponding investments in agriculture and farming. Food prices were escalating while government kept pumping money into farming. They now further decived the government by hosting agric festival in Abuja where they imported rice massively, rebagged them and built a purported rice pyramid all to justify the huge funding they got from the government through Emefele CBN. Yet food prices have kept escalating, local rice became more expensive than foreign rice we used to buy. It is escalating because local farmers do not have capacity to effectively produce some of these staple food and compete with cheaper foreign ones but enjoying monopoly to the detriment of the general populace. Once you allow foreign food enter, prices of locally produced food will crash, because what has kept it high is the monopoly they gained because of the ban on the cheaper foreign competitir
