A member of NASS during a session in the house mentioned recently that Nigeria should enback on importation of cement to break the monopoly of dangote and rabiu.

Never again will I support banning of food items into this country.

Let the local farmers compete with foreign standard to the benefit of the masses.

Enough of these unnecessary inflation, let there be access to food.
E remain cement.

How can local farmers compete when they're being killed in their various farms across the country

So the whole country should die of hunger and inflation because the north cannot stop terrorism, banditory and kidnapping in the north?

Some powerful Few are benefiting from insecurity in the north but the vast majority of Nigerians cannot continue to starve as a result.

Thank you
The hunger is too much. Even garri is now beyond the reach of the poor.
I pray they can also import to bring back it price to normal.
Those farmers are already billionaires through emefiele.
Other Nigerians also deserve to breathe

This is what we want..... Healthy competition between foreign products and locally produced ones. Although, concession should be given to indigenous manufacturers, so that they can also compete favourably....

Most of our manufacturers are extortionist and our business men are thieves in disguise. The price of imported food cheaper than local defies common logic. It's crazy. Tinubu wants a good name by fire by force

Of course we shouldn't die of hunger but let the Fg take their full responsibility by fighting insecurity to standstill for our farmers to succeed cool

The billions made by farmers from emefiele with nothing to show for it is what Cardoso should continue?

Dangote remains the richest man in Africa for many years because of successive government's protection of his monopoly while the masses remain poor.
Tinubu is here to right the wrong

I disagree with you sir, the presence of too many middle men and retailers is what is responsible for local food products to be expensive.

I don't know of other products, but if it's rice, it's not true

Middle men ain't the ones making price of rice expensive... Go to the rice mills and check the price of rice, whether the well processed ones that look like foreign, or the ones that are "just there"... Then, add cost of transport, and tell me how much they're supposed to sell it

Instead of your govt to tackle challenges of local production, they are using fire brigade approach by using importation to TEMPORARILY drive down prices.

As if you don't know what's happening. Bandits are taxing our farmers heavily, millions of Naira monthly or quarterly. They risk death and kidnapping if they fail to pay the bandits.
After then, the farmer is now at the mercy of herdsmen not to destroy his crops overnight.
What of fertiliser distribution? Akinwumi Adesina (under GEJ) solved that problem before by removing middle men, using direct phone contact. Only for next govt to reverse that policy on a lame excuse.
No effective policy on mechanised farming since 1960.

Now you're here praising a policy that will further wreck your naira in the coming years. Leaders are truly a reflection of their followers.
When followers don't even know the govt's responsibilities.

Seek more information on Lagos rice mill before concluding to say govt is lying to you.

If the mill is making its intended impact, do I need to seek it before hearing about it ?
Information will flood the internet.

We're already hearing and even feeling the impact of Dangote Refinery .
