Mindlog:
Being broke here in the UK when you are a legal resident apart from being sick (physically/mentally)to work means any of these: you are too lazy to work, you are on drugs or a gambler.
being broke in the Uk is different to being broke in Nigeria..
Being broke in the Uk means you cannot afford to go on holidays, cant buy fancy clothes or have savings and extra cash to send to family broad.
being broke in Nigeria means zero over 100.

This made me laugh “If you are not lazy, you can never be broke”

Where are you guys getting all these information from?
Bro that guys is saying the truth, as a student I use to just go to construction site with my card and do general labour for the dy and earn £40 back then. But hard work.

I am not disputing your claim that your brother paid off £25k in less than 2 years while working 20 hours per week.

Most jobs that are available are mostly £9 to £12 jobs. I don’t know how your brother able to payoff £25k in less than 2 years while working 20 hours per week.

Let us even assumed that your brother were making £15 per hour then.

In a year: £15 x 20 hours x 52 weeks = £15600

For 2 years: £15600 x 2 = £31200

You still have to factor in the income tax. He will be taxed on any money he made above £12570.

31200 - 12570 = 18630

18630 x 20% =£3726 will be his tax.

31200 - 3726 = £27474

If he was making £15 an hour then, his income less tax was £27474.

So how will he be able to payoff £25000 in less than 2 years?
What magic did they use to achieve the bolded for 20hrs a week? I wanna know

Kindly note that not every student do 20hrs job.... They have their usual way of bypassing the law as a Nigerian.. 30-40hrs per week
Go read @zealoy original post. He said his brother paid off £25,000 while working 20 hours per week as a student.

I know some students do under-the-table jobs too, but my comment was based on his post that his brother was able to pay off £25,000 in 2 years while working 20 hours a week.

This is a country where most full-timers are struggling to make just £25000 to £30000 per year. Just go to a store like ASDA or Lidi and find out how much their hourly wage is for entry-level associates.

I have been around for a few minutes, and I know what is going on.

EU passport, maybe yes, but a UK passport? Hell NO.

After Brexit, the UK lost its competitiveness. The only usefulness of the UK passport is the visa-free travel it affords its carrier, unlike an EU passport that gives the holder rights to live and establish anywhere in the EU, just like moving to a different state in Nigeria.

Before, British students who didn't want to be in debt just for going to the university could maybe travel to Sweden or Norway where studying was free, but since they left the EU, they will pay expensively just like Nigerians.

100M abeg, British passport can go to hell.

But 100m is less than $100,000 bro

Yes, and so?

Apart from visafree access, what other benefit does a British passport have? Tell me.

With 100k USD, I know how to utilise it and in few years, I will get the nationality of an EU country, its far better than British pali

Good morning bro.

I recently got a full funded scholarship for a PhD in Czech Republic. You’re more experienced than me when it comes to EU Visa processing. People say it’s not possible to get Czech student visa from Nigeria. What do you feel about this?

I have not started working on the visa yet, and I wouldn’t want to waste my time

May Allah forgive me, but it’s possible that zealoy didn’t get the full gist. It’s almost impossible to save £25,000 in two years working 20hrs per week. His tuition might have been paid by a family member.

But then, all is well sha.

You should try since it's a scholarship, your case might be different.

Oga i don't need to explain anything to u or anybody continue sitting down here in Nigeria and keep saying Nigerians are suffering in the UK
I don’t support the statement that Nigerians are suffering in the UK. I guess they are referring to those who are living there illegally with no papers to work.

But your own statement that your brother paid off £25k in 2 years while working 20 hours a week is still unbelievable.

Nigeria is tough, and I am not against anyone who wants to travel out of Nigeria for a better life, but giving people false hope is what I don’t like.

Right now, Nigerians who relocated to study in the UK recently form the majority of Nigerians who are seeking asylum in Ireland because most of them can’t meet up with their tuition or pay off the money they borrowed in Nigeria.

Anyway, only those who are not living in the UK will believe that your statement.

Thank you so much brother. May God bless you. I have one more question to ask;

For someone domiciled abroad, for instance, can legalisation/attestation of educational documents be done on behalf of the person ? Say if you have someone in Abuja, can you send your documents to tgem so they can help you take it to the ministry?

Also, for the attestation, is it the original certificate we are sending to Abuja or taking their? Or the photocopies of these?

Lastly, if you have a BSC say from Nigeria, and an MSc from an English speaking country, are you required to legalise both?

Legalisation process depends on the country. You need to study the process for czech republic. I have no idea about how they do theirs.
