Why do they all have Yoruba names in Edo state? All their leading aspirants are either Olumide, Olayinka or Akintunde. Now, Omobayo is their deputy governor. If not for Yoruba, then for no get anything for that state. Yorubas just dominate everywhere.

Bearing Olumide doesn't make you Yoruba just like bearing William doesn't make you English. When Tayo Akpata was going to be given some national role as a "Yoruba" man, Yorubas were the one that screamed that he is not Yoruba that Yorubas don't spell Akpata with a K.

Who told you Mr Omobayo is a political nobody? He actually won the Akoko Edo House of Reps election last year. With this appointment, I can assure you that PDP would get nothing less than 70% of Akoko Edo votes in the forthcoming guber. polls.

I don't know the history of Akoko Edo, but we have "Akoko" all over Ondo state as well, so I get the cultural similarity. But when it's all said and done, he's an Edo indigene and that's all that matters.
